[Discmania] Dismania PD2

Over the past 6 weeks I've purchased 3 swirl PD2's, all of which are straight up MEGA beef. I've got 2 max weights, a Supreme Flight stamped and one Huk Hypno stamp. I can throw my Sexton Firebird farther than either of them I think lol.

The third is a 171g that has seen some trees, and is finally getting workable. It still does not have any turn, but I can get it out farther before the fade kicks in.

After struggling with those 3, I eventually picked up an X-out blizzard C-line that is 160g. I now finally have a PD2 that I can get some respectable overstable distance out of. I still use one of my swirl's for strong winds, but the blizzard has become my go-to for long fade shots.

One of these days I will pick up a G-line to try.

It seriously blows my mind how much power someone has to have to be able to use the PD2 as a distance driver. I don't consider myself to have a "huge" arm, but I'm no slouch in the distance department. I can routinely get my DDX's out to 425', with my longest throws hitting 450'.

Without throwing some crazy anny flex line, I can probably only hit 350' or so with my swirl PD2's. That's thrown flat at full blast. Crazy that people are using these things as their main distance drivers...

They make nice distance drivers. Currently carrying 8. 1 c 1 p 6 s

The only pd2 ive been able to use for distance was a flat c line from a few years back. Had good glide and I had a couple aces on it.. was pretty bummed when I lost it.

My huk stamped spd goes maybe as far as my faf firebird, but it doesnt even skip because it spikes so hard to the ground haha

I personally use them as a utility disc. The only time I use them as a true DD is when the wind is above 20mph, they just fly like a nice destroyer on a calm day :D

The way these super beefy PD2's fade is nuts. With some height, they practically end up vertical by the time they hit the ground, landing like I threw a thumber lol.

But if you keep them nice and low, they will produce some really nice skips, which come in handy at times.

I suppose I could use a PD2 for distance if I could find one with a low parting line, and then smash it into a thousand trees. But why bother when they have the DDX that flies beautiful for guys like me with only 425' of power?

With that being said, where I live I don't have to deal with crazy strong winds very often. If that was something I had to deal with often, I'm sure the PD2 would see much more use off the tee.

Swirl SPD2s came in the mail yesterday:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

... My swirly S-Line Mega Huk PD2 is crazy overstable. Did they really need to go even harder? Paul, Eagle, Simon, and Geisinger would need something like that.

get some gline and pline, beat them up.

they crush. you and i throw similar distances, both max D and with those crazy OS pd2.

So just finished my first longer round with PD2s....wowowowow. Such a fun disc to throw. I bought a beat in color glow that absolutely crushes. There are a few holes that are overgrown at my local course and I just threw FH bombs over the top. The swirly PD2 is in fact monstrous, in a good way. I've been playing around with throwing giant rainbow skip shots.

The P PD2 is a hard beast to tackle. I'm not sure I've figured it out yet. The combination of lower HSS but still massive LSS makes it really unique.

I am sold on my switch over

I would love to know how the MF PD2s turned out. My recent run swirl is CRAZY OS and I'm curious how they compare. There is also a new run of PD2 up on the store that they claim is super OS.

Guy at the course let me throw one of these today. Tossed it once and that was all I needed. Put it on a "flex line" (in my mind), and let it rip. Lol.
I think it might be more OS than the Phase and Energy. I don't know what run it was, but holy smokes. As was posted above, it boggles my mind that guys throw these for any kind of distance.

No wonder Simon said it's the only disc he can crank on without it turning.

Been bagging a 175g G-line PD2 for about a month now, and I LOVE it! Much less stable than my Blizzard, Swirl's, or C-line. I can actually get close to my max distance with it, and it's very predictable. I get a little high speed turn with reliable late fade. It's become my go-to disc for long distance hyzers, or max distance headwind shots.

It actually flies so well for me, I'm worried as it seasons in it may kick some of my DDX's out of my bag. Which is crazy, since it is a PD2 after all. Compared with PD2's in the other plastics, it's almost like a totally different mold. With that said, I've still yet to try one in P-line. I need to order some backup G-line's asap, hoping this particular one isn't a fluke.

Does that mean that it has developed some turn? If so does it fly more like a Destroyer than a DDx, C or S line PD2, or any of the super high PLH Destroyers. If so I may have to get one to compliment my Star Destroyer for FHs.
