I saw a video of Dela that was made for VH1 or something back in the early 90's, and it was shocking to see lush green grass on all the fairways. So I guess there used to be grass in California.
I've always worried about cramming 3 discs in the side pockets, thinking it would stretch them out to were I'd always have to keep 3 there. Have you found you can go back and forth between 3 and 2 no problem?
I don't think that the newer discmania ones are the same mold. The ones I throw are very mid range feeling in the hand but with a more shallow rim depth. They're like a faster OS stingray with a bead to me. They def top my list of discontinued molds in the proline plastic. Pretty much impossible...
I'm pretty sure all the c line PDs with patent numbers are first runs. The big d stamp is for sure. The s lines I'm not sure but someone else might know.
I forgot that about RL Smith, but had heard it. Shame as I really liked that course. Glad to here that Eastway will be returning. Last time I had played there it was super overgrown and had heard it was pulled from lack of play/upkeep.
I have HDs on my home course and they've held up pretty well in the NY elements over the 3 or so years I've had them. Only one has a little rust on the chains down by the bottom ring where it wasn't coated very well.
I might have to get a campsite at Jordan Lake sometime in the future (post covid) for a discation. With Buckhorn, Rock Ridge and now Diavolo, this area is a destination for sure. Buckhorn is my second favorite played East Carolina course to DB's and now I have no excuse to not played Rock Ridge...
