Review by StymieDidIt in course Hickory Run State Park

2.50 star(s) Nice area and scenery. I agree with the previous review. Not much good to talk about. The course was average as far as difficulty. Not many long holes. Very poorly marked. It took a while to locate tee box number 8, which really isn't a box nor is it marked. Fortunately, I remembered...

How far am I supposed to throw before I use 11+ speed

Hey, thanks Ryan. It's funny that you say that because I think that I do have decent arm speed and have been giving consideration to my "lack of snap". What's happening , is that I'm finding that as my skills grow and my snap increases, it's changing the flight of discs that I'm usually...

How far am I supposed to throw before I use 11+ speed

Just a couple things. I would agree that ideally those would be the distances seperating those particular discs, but I would also point out that even though I can't obtain those distances, I use each of those discs and I usually maintain that type of seperation between them. For instance, I...

    Losing discs

I lost a yellow destroyer while throwing in my own yard. Isaw where it went, approximately. No big deal. I searched high and low, covered a ton of ground and still haven't found it. Now the leaves are falling and it's probably burried and gone for good. I also lost a red leopard dx in a...

    Losing discs

Great follow up story. This is some freaky ****! Actually, this is my life. This past week, I'm thowing 6 discs around in my backyard and I leave them out in the lawn. Later in the day I go outside and pick them up, but instead of putting them in my bag(in the house), I throw them on the...

    Losing discs

This is becoming a problem for me. Not so much leaving it in the basket, but on the ground as a marker, then taking my next shot and either being too excited or pissed and leaving it on the ground as I walk away. Sometimes, like you I remember, but lately I guess not.

    Losing discs

Over the last few weeks I've lost several discs. Some weird things. I've lost 2 discs in areas that were not too overgrown and where I saw the path of the disc. I searched for a long time. It's like they were sucked up into a vortex or something. It made no sense. Then, I lost a brand new...

Significant others and disc buying addictions

I kinda fall into a different category. I buy new discs whenever I feel like, and my wife doesn't really pay much attention to it. However....if she ever found out how much I do spend(because I lie and minimize the true cost when she does ask), she'd probably flip-out. I think I'd have to...

    [Innova] Eagle VS TeeBird

Ditto that! Well, except I would rather have a Destroyer over the Teebird.

    Disappointing rounds

Was able to make it to the course yesterday, after about 4-6 weeks without playing. Just a couple of backyard rounds here ad there. OMG, what a disappointment. The last round that I had shot prior to yesterday was -2. My average round has been +2 to +4. Yesterday, it started bad and got...

Is it an Ace if it's on an Object course?

I'm torn between yes and no. Obviously, if you're playing on an object course, you've satisfied the criteria for an ace if you hit the object. That being said, how many of us have hit the pole or top of the basket, or even the side of the basket and walked away with nothing more than an eagle...

    Other park users.

Must be polite. That's the rule. These people are, in most cases, sharing a park facility and totally unaware of their surroundings. I've had people with dogs and baby strollers walk right down the middle of the fairway. We just wait or try to get their attention. Most courses don't offer...

    What Bothers you more?

I would agree that a poorly designed course is the worst of the two evils. It's tough at times to negotiate your way around a poorly maintained course, but poor design does make for an unenjoyable round every time.

    Ace signage idea

I like that idea. I don't think of it as bragging, probably because I don't have any aces to brag about, but I would definitely find it interesting to know who or how many have "aced" any of the course holes.

Anyone get made fun of at the office?

Not so much the co-workers, but the "ball golfers". They mock it or kinda chuckle. But, I've had a couple come over to the house for picnics or get togethers, and they become instantly interested when they see the baskets, the discs, the legitimacy of the sport. People mock what they don't...
