New Course; Some Amenities Missing
For a shorter course, there are some elements of risk and reward. Many of the baskets are placed near the creek where being off on a drive will mean getting wet (see #3 and especially #6). Many people will end up with a 3 because of taking the "safe" route...
Sounds cliche, but both: drives and putting. If you can add an extra 25 feet of distance and staying accurate and make 35' putts, well, more birds. There are a lot of those "inbetween" holes, where a birdie is out of reach, but pars are boring. The only way to get birdies on those is drive a...
Lately, I have been using just the regular scorebook page on my iPhone while I play. The iPhone works well with the javascript and I can fill in the entire form from my phone. It is really nice to be able to submit my score and putts immediately and not have to go back and re-enter information...
They are still working on the park. I was down there today. I didn't see 27 holes, but extra baskets were in.
I was wondering if anyone knows who is in "charge" of the rennovations and when they are doing the work? If I have time and the schedule matches mine, I'd like to go down and help out.
Hey, Tolbert. I was at the French Creek Tournament this past Saturday. Congratulations on placing first in MA2. I placed third in MA1. Hope you had a good time and sorry we didn't get to talk and meet up. Maybe another tournament soon.

Hidden Gem - with Flaws
This is a really nice park with a good balance of open and wooded. There is some actual distance to the holes, all over 200' and two over 300'. Baskets are nice and the tee signs do their job. The tee pads are natural, but level for the most part, with a defined line...

Not worth it.
There is decent variety here in 9 holes. There are open shots, doglegs, woods, etc., so something to please people in that respect. This is about where the pros end for me.
Navigation is tough here. Even with a map I was confused. The tee pads are tiny - so tiny that you can...

Short Game Heaven
Branchford is a nice little park. It is well maintained and has new baskets. There are a few trees in the way on some of the holes, which provides a little bit of an obstacle. The tee signs were well done with an overview of the hole, distance, etc. It was easy to find my...
I was the first one to review Iron Hill on this site. I liked it over all, but when I went they were far from finished - no signs, the map was wrong, and it was hard to get to the next tee. I am looking forward to going back and seeing all the updates. I have played some pretty tough courses...
I've had a 0 bump the past couple of weeks. I don't seem to get lots of people reading my reviews... or if they do they don't vote on them. I like to think I do a good job.

A Biased Review
There actually is some skill required on some of the shots as this course requires finesse and accuracy more than power. It is a wonderful course to just take a Roc out and throw. There are some nice holes and some can be a challenge, especially for right handed backhanders...

Wonderful, yet Easy
Richmond Hill is a great course. The fairways are nicely defined, it is easy to navigate, and it has a good mix of holes. This course is in the mountains, but much has been done on this course to make it easy to traverse. There are stairs, benches, and boardwalks in many...
I really liked the "new" holes. They are using them as #1-#4, so you get to play them right off. They add a lot to the course. This is a magnificent course.
