I prefer having no nubs. Putting needs to be harder and not having nubs and having long skips makes it marginally harder.

It doesn't make it harder, it makes the slightly-off putt much more unpredictable in outcome to the point where it might have been better to be more off line.

I would like to see a detailed statistical analysis of baskets with and without nubs. Oh wait, no one is willing to do that? Speculation it is then.
