No Excuses Disc Golf: Dispelling the Mystery

One of which is also mine, which I think it's the one that cleaned out his machine. I believe my bag is the biggest one he has made.

Well, here is a couple quick pics from Dave after finishing my sling bag! I'll be doing a video of it next to my 1/2 Pack once it gets here and I can tinker around with it a bit. As you can see from the draft pics I posted earlier, he did a great job nailing what I wanted. I can't want to get my hands on it and see if all the bells and whistles I asked for worked out!

Looks sweet, man.

Am I correct that there were some tweaks from your initial design? The side pocket (a nice touch) looks new, and the main pouch seems zipper shut rather than the fold over flap.

I love how big the putter pocket looks.

There were a couple minor tweaks from my initial drafts. Dave made the decisions based on what he thought would and wouldn't work in the build. It's a lot like a relationship with a tattoo artist. You bring them what you want, and then rely on their expertise to collaborate on the final product. I won't actually be able to comment on the differences fully until I get it.

The main opening has always been a zippered opening. It's the same as the 1/2 Pack opening. This isn't the blue bag design I posted, this one was posted earlier.

Putter pocket is built for 3. Main compartment is built for 12.

Well my bag is complete and ready to be shipped out. I'd post pictures but again I am awful at that but he did post 5 or so on his Facebook page if you want to check them out.

Here are a few pics of the Griffin bag Dave just built for Scott:

Now, I'm not speculating anything negative here. And I'm certainly not trying to throw anyone under a bus. After all, Scott is now a bag-carrying member of the NoX family. But I will point out that the Salient rep here on DGCR went to Dave to build his personal bag. Again, all I'm pointing out is that Dave is a one-of-a-kind presence in the DG community. And I'm glad more people are starting to see that (although, on the bad side, I now have to wait longer for my stuff to get made, lol)

Also, it was my understanding that an unknown member of team Prodigy was also in line to get their own No Excuses bag, but Prodigy put the ax to that. Allegedly all team Prodigy members will be carrying Prodigy backpacks in the near future. Let's all keep a keen eye on what they look like when they are released.

Thanks for posting those pictures. Yes I did goto Dave to build me a bag. Now there are a few reasons why I did this.

1. I enjoy having something nobody else has and this will be that. I don't want to be one of the 100+ players at my course to have a grip bag.

2. I just wanted a big bag and never have to say "I wish I had space for this".

3. Iv owned a mahal, spinal tap, contender 1 and 2, and I have a catalyst. They are all great bags I just wanted something that was mine and a big bag which is what I now have.

LOLZ!!

Here is how I read this.
1. Let's say Nikko put an order to have a custom bag built by this private party
2. He used his own money
3. Prodigy found out, and said, "NO, you can not have that bag built!! You are not allowed to possess a custom built bag that you had commissioned without our approval!"

Sounds like Prodigy told the team member that they'd be making bags and members are expected to use them later this year. Not exactly putting the ax to it, but letting the players know that he/she wouldn't have much use for it in the near future.

I gotta admit I am one of the people who were giving this company crap a couple of years ago but seems like he has turned his customer service issues around and I am really digging some of these bags, that "Chicago Bears" bag is awesome

Well, I'm glad you are open to changing your viewpoint. Now, I'm normally not one to post pictures of bags in progress. I like the final product to speak for itself. But I just had to share this one since you mentioned digging the newer bags. I can't wait to see how this one looks when it's done. Iron Man backpack!

Hooray! My new bag arrived. I've only been able to mess with it for a few hours so I won't be too detailed right now. But wanted to share some pictures and features.

In the front you can see a nice big putter pocket comfortably holding 3 putters (Judge, Zone, Envy). Those are all pretty low profile putters, but there is plenty of room for 3 deeper putters as well.

The back is, of course, a favorite part for me. Stellar job as always by Dave making the back of this bag eye-catching and unique.

The strap is better than I expected. He actually tapers the strap out so it widens a bit at the shoulder and chest points. Since it only has a single strap, that really helps with the comfort level. And it's padded nicely too. (With some nylon loops thrown in for good measure)

The smaller side pocket has another pocket inside. The inner pocket fits a regualr 20 oz bottle or beer bottle/cans. If you want to gerry a big Nalgene, you just forego the inner pocket and use the whole thing. If you carry a smaller bottle, there's room for snacks or other things.

The main compartment has 12 inside (2 more putters and 3 mids, and 7 drivers). So a comfortable capacity of 15 with putter pocket.

The tall side pocket has the mini pocket. You'll notice the mini pocket and pencil pockets on the other side are angled so you can easily reach them with the bag on.

Now, the tall pocket itself is impressive for a medium-sized bag. On the back I had Dave put in a vertical zipper. It's an easy way for me to get to my towel, birdie bag, etc. without having to dig through the pocket from the top.

If you open the top, you'll see a separate pouch inside for my wallet, keys, and phone. It also stays high off the ground for bad weather days.

And, because I know people love to ask this. EASILY fits a large hoodie. I still could put stuff in the pouch, a small towel, and my birdie bag in there.

So overall I'm happy with all the features packed into this bag. It's almost a full backpack's worth of extras in a medium-sized container. I can't wait to mess around with it some more and get some course time in. Video to come shortly!

Got an email with my total(s) for the two bags. I think the design phase is next, so I replied that the prices were fine (pretty good actually), and am eager to see what he produces in the design phase. :)

Ugh...why must you come up with these cool bags with good designs. The weather hasn't been conducive to bringing mine out yet.

Just got these couple pics showing off my small bag, the T-bag. Wait until I can open it up and show off all the goodies!

I just had to share this bag. Dave outdid himself with the detail work on this.
