Paul McBeth on Track for Record $$ Won

You missed the point. Your tarpon tourney isn't merely "a single, local tournament". It pushed the limits of how large a purse can be; hence the title in your own words: "World's Richest Tarpon Tournament". (Hell, even the word 'Worlds' signifies something larger than local. But, of course, you can't have a world-wide fishing tournament. It has to be SOMEWHERE)

Using an outlying data point and referring to it as a typical point of reference is not sound logic. What is the average 1st place purse for such a tournament? Not nearly as much, I'd wager.

Obviously, you didn't bother checking the other links, which provide detailed payout breakdowns.

Furthermore, you called "shenanigans" based on the OP referencing a guy claiming to have won $5000 at a local tarpon tournament, using the first place payout of a single local tournament payout—and an outlier, at that—rather than the average payout of a series as the basis of your call. Sorry, buddy, but YOU'RE the one missing the point.

Came here for disc golf talk and got four pages of conversation about fishing for tampons or something

Yeah, smells fishy. I wonder if they have a game clock, maybe they break it down into quarters or... periods.

What need is there to check the other links? You've already described the tourney as "World's Richest", hence, they will have smaller purses. No?

Your flawed argument is akin to saying Sasquatch isn't very tall, since he's only 2-3 inches taller than Sultan Kösen...

6000 for worlds....am I too early?

Assuming the final payouts for the majors in Europe are in dollars, Paul will top $50k in winnings after Worlds becomes official. Of course, that is before the Hall of Fame NT event, Ledgestone and the USDGC. Still lots of money to win, and a Grand Slam of all the majors.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Another $6,000.

Rumor mill is he gets a $40,000 bonus from Innova for another world title?
2012- 10K
2013- 20K
2014- 30K
2015- 40K

He deserves it ... simply dominating performance

Thus far this year, McBeth has won 4 of 4 majors and 3 of 5 National Tour events. He placed 2nd and 3rd at the two he didn't win. Total domination.

FACT: every one of the other tourneys cited, both mens and women's, paid out > $12-15k for finishing first, which easily surpasses the reported $5000 payout that RobA called shenanigans based the payout of a single tournament that's the equivalent of a D-tier.

The only flawed argument here is a result of your unwillingness to fact-check, even when the necessary information is handed to you, before shooting off your mouth. Wear it with pride, buddy.

In mortal combat McBeasts year would be a brutality.

So, the tourney called "Worlds Richest" is actually 1/3rd of the payout of the other tourneys in your list? This makes sense how, exactly?

So what's the guess on Paul McBeth's annual salary from Innova this year (including $$ from discs)

Paul made a tongue in cheek implication here on DGCR once that implied he cleared 100k in 2014. So.... more than that
