A buddy and I were playing the course at Arkabutla Lake in North MS before they installed the tee pads -- probably mid- to late-January. It was probably in the 40s or 50s, overcast, and the wind was blowing out of the north -- pretty brisk day, especially for this area. There is a creek running along the back of the course from the road, and he sailed his drive over it. He finds the best spot possible where he can get a step or two for momentum and jump the creek, drops his bag, takes a step, and when he plants to jump, his foot just sinks into soft ground -- instead of propelling himself up and forward, he just went forward -- chest deep into the creek. I am trying not to laugh as I make sure he is OK. He was OK -- just a bit cold for a while.
