The Inevitable 2018 Pros Switching Sponsors Thread

I wish Drew would have done an ITB at some point, but I guess that it makes sense now why he didn't at the end of the season. I would have liked to see what he used though, maybe Felons for turnovers in the 450 range?

I didn't mean to further derail the thread, so I digress... I'm curious to see where Gibson will land though. If Legacy is ruled out, along with Trilogy, that doesn't leave a lot left. Discraft, Innova/DM, Prodigy? I'd like to see him back with Innova personally.

Thanks for the reply. I actually like their ads, but that's because I'm a tad puerile in my humor. But I can see how they might bug some.

I hate their naming convention too, but then I like Prodigy's and boy does that one does engender hate. I like the fact I can look at their discs and know where they're going to fly relative to their other discs better than other manufacturers. Of course, universal ratings does the same thing.

All of that said, they seem hugely loyal to their players and staff and that impresses me. Maybe it's cause they're a cult? :D
 
DG is going to Innova. From what I understand, he already has them in his bag and has been throwing them competitively.

I'm not a fan of DD either for some of the same reasons, but their ads are great. (not that one you linked to...I agree, that was ****ty.)

Not super surprising and prob a good move for him.

I don't think the DD sponsorship panned out the way either of them, DG or DD, had expected or hoped. The potential he had shown before signing with DD didn't really continue on that same trajectory and maybe he didn't ever feel completely comfortable with the new set up and ended up not making as much money as he had expected. In which case, going to any place besides Innova, Discmania, and maybe Discraft wouldn't have made any more financial sense for him either.

Ha now they just do both. Some dude hit me last week and my phone hasn't stopped ringing and my mailbox has been jammed full every day with envelopes from these douche-bags. Next caller is getting porn playing through the speaker.

Honestly not sure why anyone is sponsoring Drew Gibson...his social media outbursts this year were cringey at best, misguided and ignorant at worst. IF disc golf was a real sport, his online presence would have been a huge negative.

More importantly, he didn't really post any great results or compete at any majors this year. Or ever.

California kid can throw far, I guess? Innova can keep him close to his notorious/controversial friend, I guess?

DISCLAIMER to avoid any arguments or outrage:

I don't really give two ****s about sponsorships or the characters of the Pros, I throw mostly Innova, I'm just saying...Drew Gibson: ew.
