I've seen people do this before. He just jacked up his price on shipping, while lowering the cost of the item substantially to get around the Ebay fees. $16 shipped isn't bad for a 175 gm Proto stamped Katana.Flipflat said:mzuleger said:I feel a little bad posting this stuff because one of these days it's going to be a fellow dgr-er... anyway "I pride myself on being an honest seller here on Ebay. $11 for shipping you'd think at least it'd go priority mail, but it's parcel post, which I believe is the lowest and slowest shipping class.

Have you noticed how Sandypoint's auctions have been going for outrageous prices lately? One of my buddies and I were talking about this, and then he pointed out there is one person who has been bidding on lots of his stuff. Realize I am not making accusations here, only pointing out facts. It just seems kind of odd. Check this out:pdorries said:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=350316182993&Category=20851&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2

Mr. Plow said:If you do the math (117 items bid on x 35%) this person has bid on 41 Sandypoint auctions in the last 30 days, most of which are in the last few weeks. He has won very few of them, and most have gone way higher than the median price for said item.
I have bought stuff from Sandypoint as well. Most of their auctions are selling at reasonable prices, however, when they get high lately they seem to go WAY up there.pdorries said:Mr. Plow said:If you do the math (117 items bid on x 35%) this person has bid on 41 Sandypoint auctions in the last 30 days, most of which are in the last few weeks. that is true, looks weird. I have bought many things from sandypoint before, most at fair pricing, I wonder what is going on here

Of course, I have had the same thing happen when I am selling. A few people get overzealous and drive the prices of things way up just to try to get combined shipping. 41 bids is a lot though, especially for just one person over the course of a month.
