is that when I bought my original bunch of first run champion katana's, blue was still an option. I chose all transitions cause I thought they'd be rarer. Damn you fickle collector market...

What the heck? Last time I looked at that item, the bid was $100 and I thought it still had a couple days to go. Now the auction has ended with a $24.99 start bid and no bidders?

It was at $100, you're right. He uses multiple accounts though (I have proof), and it wouldn't surprise me if old Puffy was bidding on his own auctions and then withdrew at the last minute so he wouldn't get charged the fees. Then again, last week I had an item up to $26 and 2 people withdrew their bids all of a sudden and it was at $1.25. Probably one or the other. Either way, I will never bid on any of his auctions.

Wow! :shock: I'm rather new to the whole buying/selling discs on ebay and it has been an eye-opener to see how the system gets worked.
I was interested in buying that disc too, but certainly didn't think it would sell for more than $50.00. After all, it was not mint and had been thrown several times previously. There were two other 1st Run Katanas up for auction on ebay (mint condition) and both recently ended, but neither one went for anywhere near $100.

I can shed some light on the situation with the Katana, I actually email the guy listing this outside of ebay, if you look at the release numbers this weight and color there were only 10 made in that color and weight, so it's "kinda" rare. Furthermore after chatting with him thru email and on the phone I found out he had a couple other rare Katana's (Sparkle and Test Material Ones) he also had some other discs on eBay that I wanted, so we worked out a deal for all for all of them. I got a decent price on all the discs nothing outrageous but worth his while and worth what I paid for them.

So the $100 dollars was way too much for that disc yes but it's like I said "Kinda" rare based on the release numbers in that color.

Some other discs I got from him: 1st Run Destroyer (New), Champ Test Destroyer (New), 2006 Throwback Rock (New), Swirly Pro Orc (New).

I don't know maybe Puffy does have another account but he was mad cool with me and we had a great transaction. We chatted on the phone and worked out the deal.

That's one of the ones Hero Disc was selling last year. They were fetching up to $100 on Ebay at one point. It's actually not Champ at all...there was a thread about them, but it's pretty much a blend of RPro and plastic used in the Dragon/Hydra.

I can't tell if it's a 2nd run or not (need to see the top), but according to the Collectors thread on the pdga forum, it's probably overpriced.

it's legit, i've fondeled it before...very tasty disc.

edit: legit meaning it is as described...price wise, it's up to the bidders, or lack thereof, to decide i guess.
