Pro Tour Live Coverage

If you think streaming through a website is easier than streaming through an app, you're crazy. I don't get 503 errors on a Youtube app. Especially for those of us who have invested in streaming devices for this specific purpose.

I certainly don't want him to fail. I also think he's an idiot for trying to reinvent the wheel - there are global sites that have dedicated their entire enterprise to being able to support livestreaming in an easy and convenient way. Youtube and Twitch are superior platforms for a reason.

Sure, but as he brought back Smashboxx. Jomez and CCDG and more. . .i think most of that negativity would have gone away. . . by removing the live from Youtube he just fules that negativity

507, Inefficient storage space for 10 minutes. Now site loads but the stream doesn't. Dodge decided to save on a server space, which explains why no rewinding?...

I have no interest one way or another regarding Dodge.
I want -
1. Easy to find and watch disc golf.
2. For the coverage to get to as many people as possible, as easily as possible.

Why isn't youtube the answer for that? Easy to use on all platforms. Can rewind. If you don't want to see the chat, click the one button that turns it off.

This is akin to a guy starting his own hosting service because he had beef with AWS. Until you have the stuff ready, and solid, then why make it harder to get to?

You can turn off the comments on YouTube, and I do. I just have not found this coverage any harder or different than YouTube, for me. I simply go to a website and click play.

Of course, that might all change this afternoon, when I go home and try watching it on my TV. If that is difficult, I promise to join the ranting here. :p

same but at least i get several commercials. Really communicates value, and I learned that playitagainsports is still in business somewhere!

They were so close of getting things right with their backpedaling and then they decide to switch the platform who knows why. Should have kept it in youtube for now and make transitions later (if they really want it) when everything else is working.

My understanding is that the ad service with this platform is more friendly or conducive to what Steve is trying to do. All those ad breaks that don't seem to have any content...I don't think that's something that JVD and the producers control. I think that's part of the platform. Perhaps when the stream is more established and has better/more numbers, ads will get plugged into that spot automatically with little/no effort from Dodge, Jonny, or anyone on the production side.

If you've ever watched something like ESPN's streaming platform, or Hulu with commercials...the ads have little to do with the show itself. They're just plugged in by the platform automatically. I may be wrong, but I think that's what this "foxbat" thing is all about. And those ads don't show up on Youtube if they try to stream there (as we saw with the WACO coverage).

Thanks, I have YouTube red (no commercials). So I'll probably stick with that.

I tried to go to the website, got a blank white page with an error message.

Anyone got a cookie for me?

Wow, kept clicking the stream, F5 and cursed a bit and stream started to work again, and now with 1080p (previously I was only able to get 720).

Roku stream went down for a bit as well but now it's back. Just a guess, but I'm betting they reset the stream to fix the frame rate issue. Whatever they did, it looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better now.
