Am I the only one that thinks gold line is garbage? I love latitude opto. Indestructable and very pretty. Gold line manages to be prettier (in the swirly color blends) but is it me or does this crap get chewed up as easy as dx or pro d plastic? One tree hit, one rock hit, one hit off of an old ladies head(kidding) and you could land a Buick in the gouge. Rant over. Chime in folks....

I think GL is incredible,I've had a river that I throw religiously, and have done so for the past 8 or 9 months, and it barely has any scuffs on it.

I'm not aware of anything more than a scuff on my GL, even on my OH Vision and XXX.
I hit a lot of wood, but rarely any significant rocks.

I am seeing a slight difference in the newer GL...more particularly Westside's Tourney version. Seems gummier and less durable but that might just be westside's "2%" difference

Seems like westsides opto/vip is similar too...i have had lat optos that take a year to break in/change flight, not seeing that w Kings

Still digging both regardless

Almost word for word what I wanted to say about the River. I will change 8 or 9 months to well over a year. I did trade once for a beat Gold Line Vision. That is as trashed as I have ever seen Gold Line. It actually shocked me how beat that disc was. I have two Strikers that have met rocks on numerous occassions and only show the slightest dings. Even my GL Halo which took a nasty lick to the flight plate when I lost it under snow and was scooped up and thrown to the side by a snowplow shows no more wear then a single (but obvious) scratch.

All the tourney Westside discs I unpacked a few weeks ago look to be the color schemes that Lat may be moving towards. Several of their discs were the exact same color-shifts as the Havocs and Bolts. At least the appearance is the same. Unfortunately none of their current discs would find spots in my bag, so I did not give them more than a passing feel before putting them on the shelf.

As for their VIP discs, by appearance alone they seem a little different than Lat's Opto. They seem a little murkier or less translucent (for example, the blues and reds actually appear darker and more full), just less of a sheen as the Optos. I could be completely wrong and they might be the exact same formula as Opto, but I would not be surprised that for the sake of separating themselves from Lat that Westside has tinkered with the chemical and plastic composition of their discs, keeping it just close enough where Lat does not have a huge problem producing the discs for them.

I have a S-ton of LAT discs. They have taken far more punishment and remained unscathed (both GL and Opto) than any other brand.

GL is durable, but I had a hell of a hard time finding my GL "gold" discs in the woods. Once they leave sunlight they become very hard to find. Great flying discs tho.

Since Innova donesn't care anymore, Latitude should come out with a Silver Line. SL Discs made in flourescent/day glo Opto plastic with real silver flakes in the plastic. Beats the hell out of sparkle Z. Imagine color shift GSL Discs...

One GL that took a hard hit in the winter that lost a small chunk...but that's about it. Had a Striker run over by a car...came out with a small scratch...car probably had a rock in the tread :/

Ive been using the same GL core for over a year and it still looks brand new on the edge

My Flow has very little wear for 6-7 months of use.

My Fuse gets the **** kicked out of it (think rocks and trees at South Mountain, Nockamixon, Tyler SP, etc) and has held up very well.

Wow maybe my river was a freak of nature. The very first throw I made with the disc landed in the fairway, on grass, and there was a huge gouge in the rim. (some hidden rock or stick maybe?) I'll be sticking to opto....

Never had any problems with GL as far as durability goes. More durable than its competitors - ESP and Star - in my opinion. My only complaint about GL is it has a little too much give which makes it a little difficult for me to grip in hotter weather as my grip pressure bends the disc.
