[Latitude] It exists!!! The Opto Pure Thread

I've had one of the gl for about 9 months and it started off a little less stable than my opto (got them within 2 weeks of each other). I also feel like the gl has more glide than the opto. Now after using it constantly for the last 9 months its a great hyzer flip/turnover driving putter.

I've got a few original zeros. The feel is superior in my opinion to the new zero. I currently am on the fence between using my old tried and true zero and the new zero hard I have. It wouldn't even be a competition but the old zeros taco easily and are really hard to find. I haven't tried the new zero soft, but maybe the soft would be a closer feel to the old zeros.

got one on the way but looking for more. Felt these from a buddy of mine and while I love my classic judges and have for a while i can't seem to keep a consistent release due to the grip. putted a few times with my opto and it putted very well, but since zero hard is similar to classic, guess I gotta track down some old oop stuff. Any leads are greatly appreciated! oh and monocacy I pmed you

I would like to hear from somebody who has gotten their hands on a Dyemax Gold Line Pure, are they comparable to the Optos, more or less stability?

There is little to no difference between it and my first production run flat opto pures. Honestly the plastic feels exactly like opto, not gold line. I'm tempted to propose that lat just added some solid coloring agent to the opto plastic and stamped them gold line. But then i'd be labelled a conspiracy theorist.

Save some cash and buy opto.

i started throwing the opto again instead of the PA4. rim feels better in my hand and i throw it better. i thought the PA4 felt better at first, but now i realize it doesn't.

wonder why i have this obsession about throwing the same disc across plastics. zero soft pure and opto are back in the back after a couple dismal weeks of putter driving. sure enough, start throwing the opto and my putter drives are back on point.

my zero nearly won me 150$ yesterday until it hit the bottom of the basket and rolled all the way down the hill, giving me a 5 when i could have had a 2 to hit a gauntlet run for cash in our league.

so dumb.

i got home before dark today
so i went out on my course and threw my pink 175 opto pure just now
i like it a lot better than my evo wizards, that i bought for driving putters
i can get a lot better/cleaner release

like most putters i have thrown, it likes a little height to go farther
but its nice and slow, so its kinda deceiving how far its going

after a few throws i was parking my #6 hole, which is about 198' straight out, through a kind of tight alley (see pic)

Really feeling this disc as I get back into things, and I've been basically playing my local course with Leo/Pure/Rhyno with Leos handling all drives and long fairways, Rhynos handling all shorter approaches and putting, and Pure handling anything <200 feet. Have always been impressed by the Opto Pure - throws perfectly straight and can make it tail right or left as neeed in last quarter of flight. And it sits where it hits. Love it.

got out to play a round with the wife today
i used this thing on about every other hole
i am in love

I <3 opto pure

sucker chained out on me for a would-be ace, hole 1 at kenwood trails. second time this happened, darn slippery plastic . . . ridge is becoming more of my go-to for short drives under 240, but this thing covers everything out to 300. still kinda battling with the pa4, but it's winning the spot in the bag again.

Aced with my Opto Pure not to long ago. Decided to hang it up with the other ace discs and pick up a new sparkle Opto :D

Help Pure Freaks!

I currently carry 4 putters in my bag:

DX P&A Aviar (all circle putts, short straight approaches, shorter jump putts)
Opto Pure (anhyzer drives, straight with fade drives, long jump putts)
400 PA4 (tunnel drives)
ESP Zone (skip drives, skip approaches, forehands)

I've had a couple of occurances where my Opto Pure has slid thru the chains on a long jump putt. I love the Pure for these types of shots (similar stability and feel to my Aviar but much easier to throw longer) but the Opto sneaking thru the chains has gotta stop. Is Zero Hard a significantly easier plastic for the chains to "grip"?

YES.

opto is slippery. zero hard is much better at catching; it was my primary circle putter for a while along with a regular old zero for longer putting duties. you will have to get used to the putter not being as glidey.

sorry, had to go for a bit - you'll find the zero hard to feel like a completely different disc in hand too; much flatter, way lower profile. i personally really liked it.

Oh, maybe that's not what I want. I was looking for the same flight characteristcs (glidey, neutral, long for a putter) as a Opto Pure but one that the chains "catch" better. Is the Zero Hard not as fast/glidey?

it's still fast and it's still neutral and glidey, but not as much glide as the opto, which has more dome. it'll putt straighter since it's not as HSS/LSS. it's definitely pretty neutral. was just letting you know there are some differences.

my zero hard pures havent been that much different from the opto pures...the flat opto pures anyways. there have been some domey opto pures ive had that feel different...but all the zero hards ive had are flat. zero hard and opto pures have flied very similar for me when fresh...but of course the zero hard will break in faster, which i love. I have 1 opto i keep for straight as an arrow, then cycle 3 zero hard pures, always keeping one just for putting.

Try and find some of the EZE or the TM2 plastic. They molded up similar to the optos, and arent flat like the zeros

I have recently found that my Opto Pure is great for tight accurate drives where just the least amount of shank will hurt you badly.

They always release nice and clean. There are 2 holes here at one of my local courses where this disc just excels over any putter I have ever thrown.
