Prodiscus backpack

Looks like I'm getting one of these for Christmas. I haven't been this excited for Christmas since before I got in a fight with Santa Clause at the mall.

Spent a week in Vegas and got 3 rounds in with it. I LOVE the bag. Its a great bag and my buddy with his Grip was eyeballing it a little too much for comfort!!

Where in the world can you order one of these? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Journey Post supposedly has some but I don't see them on their webpage. I got to see one in person last week and it was pretty solid. I just don't have that type of cash to drop on a bag right now.

I'm still on the fence about purchasing one. I like the increased capacity over the Grip bag, but the warranty is only one year. For a bag that expensive I would like to know for sure it is going to last. I'm waiting to hear more feedback from the owners over time.

Agreed. I've been eyeballing all the backpacks out there, have been able to check out a Grip and Mahal on the course, both look sweet.

This one looks perfect. I'm 6'3'', 240, so the size is fine.

My one question that I didn't see in the thread, anyone got enough rounds on one to talk about durability?

I spend a lot of time in the briar patch around these parts...I don't HAVE to drag my bag with me when I do, but just curious if there's any snag/rip issues?

I've had mine since July and been using it pretty constantly since worlds. Lots of rounds on it and no problems so far with durability.

I've had mine for about a month now. Played probably 20 rounds with it loaded up with discs, gear, 6 pack of beer, etc. I play in the snow and in heavily wooded terrain. I have not had any issues with mine.....

I have had mine since early August. Prob had at least 200 rounds with it & still just as good a shape other than some dirt (I got light grey). I cant say the material wouldnt rip on thorns if one caught it right but i havent been trying to test that theory.

Im a lil shorter & a lil wider but if this is the bag that fits your needs best i would say you can buy in confidence.

Mixed blessing, discs is one thing, but a $200 bag is going to create some domestic turbulence...

But thanks! Is there an official name for this thing? They should call it the "dorsal Fin."

Nice! Reminds me of that South Park episode where Kyle's dad becomes a dolphin. I think he calls it Prodiscus Disc Golf Carrier Pro to be exact but i've also heard Grip Off, Rip off, Wide Load, etc.

I realize a warranty may be what seals the deal for some people but i felt comfortable enough that if some part of the bag fails due to the way it was built Kai would make it right. Knock on wood that hasnt happened yet.

I e-mailed him about it. He said warranty is one year, and due to logistics he would prefer the bag to be taken to a local tailor for repair and he would pay the bill. If it's a more serious issue that cannot be repaired or would be too costly to repair, then the bag would have to be shipped back to Europe for exchange.

I'm already on my third Grip bag since buying my first one in June. I don't like the fact that I've had to send my bag in for warranty so much, but every time it was due to a design flaw that just wasn't made apparent until later. If it wasn't for the great warranty I'd be very upset with my purchase right now. This is why I'm wary of the Prodiscus warranty situation with it being a relatively new bag and all.

what the heck has been wrong with your grips the first two times?

First one had the side frame panels inserted backwards. Also snap button that holds the putter pocket up tore off and one of the zipper pulls fell apart. This all happened within the first week of me owning the bag.

The second issue took a while for me to notice. The velcro strip inside the main compartment that is used to hold the flap in place after you unzip it and tuck it in was getting caught on the putter pocket and fraying it. It ended up eating a hole through the putter pocket by the time I noticed it. The new Grip bags fixed this problem by making that patch of velcro smaller so it doesn't reach the putter pocket and the putter pocket itself is made from a different material that is less likely to snag.

The third Grip bag I have now seems solid but I'm guessing is a tiny bit narrower than the previous two. I can't hold my usual amount of discs in the main compartment, and I can't fit any disc in the front pouch like I was able to in the older bags. I'm getting kind of tired of the inconsistencies.

Man hope you have better luck with the 3rd one. I feel like i got a lifetime warranty with mine. The day after i got my bag i get another box from Finland, this time addressed in my wifes name instead of mine. To my surprise he sent me a 2nd one. I believe its good Karma for not pitching a fit when they weren't done in the time frame he orginally said.

I kinda want to trade that 2nd one for a grip bag but cant pull the trigger.

That had to chap your butt after the release delays/shenanigans.
