I feel like I am really blessed to be so close to both, a couple of short courses and plenty of practice fields. My buddy, who got me into the game, lives 3 houses to the east of the first road to the east of the course, Springvale South 9 holes.

Springvale North 9 holes is to the north of the lake, out of the picture.

If you look hard enough you might see a tree. :(

I (ME in blue) can walk to those baseball fields to the north in less than 5 minutes, or continue to the 2 lined AstroTurf fields to the north/east in about 10. If they are occupied I can it the soccer fields to south/east of those.

See how the left side of the course is green and the right side is brown? That's exactly how it is, not a satellite picture patch job. It's like stepping out of an oasis into a desert.

I work from home and my work is project/deadline/contract driven, so I can and do play and/or practice almost everyday. If I drive I can go around twice and be back in about an hour.

Anybody else have a sweet setup they want to share?

Luckily where I am in the N. Metro twin cities area I have 5 courses within 10 miles and 2 right here, with another 30+ within a half hour surrounding area. loveeee TCDG!

No walking distance for me, but I'm pretty lucky to live and work within a 10 minute drive from 2 of Ontario's best courses.

The nearest course to where I'm staying at the moment (my parents' house, I'm currently house sitting). The nearest course is about 3 blocks (there's a field near there as well), but I never go there, I've probably only played 10 rounds there in my life. I'd much rather drive 15 minutes to Albert Lea, the courses don't even compare - short pitch and putt intro course vs gold level championship course.

When I'm in WI, the nearest course is the course that I'm building (currently there's no baskets), and I am happy to play there every day. If I want the nearest course otherwise it's 40 minutes to the nearest pitch and putt, and over an hour to the nearest good course. I haven't looked for fields, I can open it up decent enough in my parking lot (maybe 300' open line, can't get full distance reads, but can practice drives decent enough).

I put the little red X right on my house. Then had to zoom way out to see any courses. There are plenty of public fields that I can throw in, but it's a 30 minute drive to get to the nearest course.

The nearest course for me is about 10 minutes away (which I am really grateful for). In the subdivision next to me there is a totally awesome throwing field that is about two soccer fields wide and two soccer fields long, so plenty of room to do any shot you want. The cool thing about this area is that it is in a valley and it completely surrounded by thick woods (it feels like your in a gladiator arena). It can be 20+ mph winds that day but in this "arena" it is completely calm. It's also isolated so you kind of feel like your in your own world in there. Very peaceful, surreal place. I love it.

I have a field across the street that has a play ground off to the side, so I can take the kids there, turn them loose and get some throws in. Nearest course is about 30-40 minute walk.

i am lucky that i have two courses near me both roughly 5 minutes from me. Both of the courses are fairly nice 9 holers.

DG in South Florida is kind of a catch 22. We can play in fantastic weather year round but despite the enormous population down here, the closest course to my home is about 20-25 minutes, there are 3 within 30 minutes but only about 10 within a 2 hour drive. Things are looking up though, a park that the my local club has setup a temporary course at for events is one signature away from becoming permanent. It is my favorite course of all down here and it is 5 miles from my house. Cant wait to have a true home course.

I have a 5 minute walk to a field and a ten minute drive to my closest course with a field there too. Within an hour, I can get to any Greater Cincinnati area course (Idlewild, Lincoln Ridge, Mt. Airy, Osage Grove), as well as the Dayton courses.

I am surrounded by open fields, Soccer and football. But the closest course is 45 min away.

I want to know what community has a private DG course!

There's quite a few of them out there.

I chose <5 minute walk in the poll, it might take me 5 minutes to crawl out of bed, get dressed, put on my boots, grab a bagel for breakfast, grab my discs and walk to hole 1 (Bald Eagle).
