So, how did you play today?

Just another reminder that I need to be consistent...took bogeys on potential birdie holes and then nailed 8 birdies, 1-6 and then hole 9 and 12 at Lakewood. Two bounce outs.

To finish at -3. Wtf.

threw practice round in the drizzle today. teepads were slick so i stand stilled all my shots. threw a ton off the tee. good to have a gstarrr sw back in the bag. i also forgot how overstable fresh stalkers are, i shoulda started my new cycle sooner. oops. now i have a flippy, semi flippy and then to overstable. no nice straight no turn no fade one :(

oh well. parked a 250 footer with my dx aviar on a standstill that was cool

Played the Monster at Hudson Mills (Michigan) today for the first time, with my 2 disc golfing buddies. Started on fire - by the 8th hole, I was +1, leading by 6. I proceed to get 3 straight double bogies, and finish out at +23, losing by 4 strokes. A giant thunderstorm was coming in, so the winds were extremely strong and unpredictable.

Still, I made some awesome 30' putts.

Yesterday had some ups and downs as usual. Was missing nearly every putt although did make a nice 30ish+ putt uphill over some bushes and through some trees, which felt good.

Gotta stop pulling my putts to the right and gotta stop griplocking those drives!

Felt good off the tee, I slowed everything down and was ripping drives straight. Still wound up about 20-30' short on most every hole. If I could putt, that would be awesome :|

Instead I wound up even with 1 bird and 1 ugly

Went bogey free with one bird at Plantation Ruins for a minus 1. Not bad for having serious medical issues (starting chemo/radiation tomorrow; surgery late January). Probably will not be able to play again until next August--I'll be going stir crazy!

Played really well in the wind today. The putting was all the way back (even hit a nice 60' jump putt), was driving somewhat accurately out to 360', FH was good...just felt great to actually throw well, as it's been a while.

Yesterday, I got to show some friends and their two boys around Shawnee S.P. for their first disc golf experience on a real course. I had set up a temporary course at a church picnic this past Summer and they wanted to play again.

They enjoyed it and it was neat to watch the transformation of their throws as the day progressed. The youngest boy already wants to go again. I had taken some extra discs that I got from a thread on here and they were very surprised that they got to keep them. (Thank you DGCR community for responding to my cheap discs request.) They geocache and travel a lot, so now they'll have the opportunity to play dg as they run into courses along the way.

I also played both before and after they arrived and left. I played very consistently and shot -4, -3 (while playing with them and slowed way down) and -6, with that -6 score of 21 tying my record on the course. I had a legit shot at a 20, too, but a 25' putt, into the wind, chained out left on one hole.

So it was a great day for me! Plus they already messaged me and wanted a link to the site that I go to. They checked out DGCR and already said how useful it will be to them!

How did I play today...ugh. Hit the basket or chained out 7 times. 6 discs OB (damn you Trophy Lakes). Made a quintuple bogey on 16...

That's how I played today.

Sun comes up again tomorrow.

lost another sidewinder....

i think thats about 6 in the past month. holy ****. i mean its my most thrown driver but i didnt lose any until this month, outta all year even in the winter. its getting rough out there

played league at oakwood...for some reason i forgot how to putt today. i got nervous and it all went out the window.

i gave my ****ty putting technique a name, too: the stranger putt. because it felt like i had sat on my hand and then tried to putt. i felt like "what am i doing? what is this strange object and how do i get it inside that metal cage??"

i missed 4-5 putts inside 15'-20' and 1-2 from 20-30'. it was embarrassing and i actually went and raged for the first time on the course after missing my 6th putt. i was close enough to piss on the chains and i airballed it. i ripped my disc into a tree as hard as i could. i could have *easily* shot 7-8 down or maybe even better. it was weird; i was having this great/terrible round. i couldn't pull my head out of my ass and i knew it, and that frustrated me all the more. so i'd go to the next hole all determined, set myself up for a birdie and miss the damn thing all over again. eventually it just kind of overwhelmed me. i'm a pretty chill guy for the most part, i felt like i was bringing the group down with my attitude and that made it even worse.

i did still take second at league with a 51, but it felt like the worst round ever. i was *this close* to packing up my toys and going home.

First throws in three weeks today. Only drove on four holes because of cracked ribs, but it was good to hang out with The Ridge Crew and "officiate" today's proceedings.

Decent. Pared the course. 1 birdie, 1 bogie. 10 par. I missed 5 putts though that would have given me 6 birdies.. If only :/

Took the kids to the elementary school course. Was going to play an UltraStar round, but it got too windy for that. Played Buzzz Rhyno Wedge instead. 5 near aces over 9 holes, 4 of them with my G* Rhyno. 3 drives hit early trees, saved par on all 3, including a miraculous roller outshot where I had ZERO visibility of the basket. Only 1 open hole I can't reach with a mid (yet) but had an easy par.

Felt good off the tee, but only scored 5 down because all the putts were within 15'

You'd think a guy with 3 baskets at home could putt better :D

Trouble is they only get used for temp courses and extra tourney holes

Whew! I'm glad to know I am not the only one to go through such an experience. The Stranger putt moniker is apt. It's like a Kafka dream where you can see yourself failing from someplace too far away to stop it from happening. I played three different courses up in Flagstaff on Saturday and had a similar experience. Actually switched hands putting and it actually helped... still didn't score well but my mood lightened. Have you perhaps been playing a lot lately(?), because I think that fatigue may have something to do with Stranger putting.
