Hypothetical: You can only carry 6 discs... what and why?

KC Pro or Champion Eagle - my favorite discs, all purpose accuracy driver up to 350' & good in a headwind
Ch or Pro Wraith - distance driver
Ch Monarch - turnover driver/roller
DX Flattop Rancho Roc - all purpose midrange
Star Coyote - little longer than the roc
KC Pro Aviar - everything under 200'-250'

Innova - Pro - Wraith - 171 or Discraft - Z - Surge - 171 = No wind driving disc

Latitude 64 - Opto - Blitz - 175 = Headwinds, flex shots, skip shots, and hyzers

Innova - Champion - Sidewinder - 165-68 or Latitude 64 - Vision - Opto - 175 = Tailwinds, rollers, anhyzers, and skip shots

Innova - Champion - Teebird - 175 = Can do anything with it disc

Discraft - X - Stratus - 175 = Can do anything approach disc and rollers

Gateway - SuperSoft or SuperStupidSoft - Magic - 175 = Straight and hold the line putter

Oh, this will be hard.

This is what I am carrying now

DGA Blowfly 170g Main Putter/Approach
Discraft ESP Banger-GT 174g Forehand Putter/Approach
Discraft ESP Stalker 173g Hard Hyzer for me for some reason
Innova DX Archangel 150g Stupid distance when accuracy isnt a factor
Innova Champion Firebird 150g Long, Smooth hyzer/Forehand
Innova Champion Leopard 167g Fairway control
Innova Champion Viking 174g Main Driver
Quest SRP Defender 171g Hyzer flip anny

So I would have to cut 2 which would be easy:

DGA Blowfly 170g

Discraft ESP Stalker 173g

Innova Champion Firebird 150g
Innova Champion Leopard 167g
Innova Champion Viking 174g
Quest SRP Defender 171g

does that mean you can only throw them straight? :\

It means that I can't do hyzer-flips with those discs and especially not hyzer-flips that need to end to the right. Straight, hyzers, anhyzers, overhand, long, mid, and putting are all covered though. I guess I could take a Glide for those turn-over shots that require some finesse, especially since there's a couple of those holes at my [new] local course (MetCenter). Then again, I don't think I'd ever play that course without my full bag. It has the largest variety of hole types imaginable.

167 Star Boss because it will not flex or turnover no matter how hard I throw it and has a nice fade to finish around trees, also for holes where I beed to throw high hyzers that fade down hard.

175 Champion Sidewinder for big hyzer flip drives.

160 R-Pro Boss for long straight drives that need to turnover a little bit.

168 Pro Boss for Straight and Turnover Drives over 300 feet.

180 Star Roc for short drives, long anhyzers, and long hyzers.

175 SSS Wizard for putting, approach shots, huge hyzers, and narrow fairways.

Are you sure you wouldn't want a really beat up Boss for putting?? just kidding ;)

I just found 3 Boss's kind of funny and I am in a real mood today. :)

Ok, if I had to do six, they'd probably be

Teebird - Main backhand driver, very reliable, great hyzer or straight disc, not flippy, but will still hold a solid anny line and good for controlled overhands

Flick - forehand disc with reliable right fade/skip at the end and a good bh meat hook

Destroyer - forehand shots. Not as reliable as the flick, but can get about 50' further with it. Also good headwind backhand driver and if I'm feelin' it I might just launch it on a few regular backhand throws, but probably end up wishing I'd thrown the Teebird.

Glide - finesse hyzer-flip/turn-over disc and touch annys

Avenger SS - distance hyzer-flips, sky anny's and rollers

Challenger - Putt and approach

These are the six I would carry and probably use them 90% of the time. I carry about 16, some backups, and specialty discs, 3 putters and 3 mids typically.

Champ Teebird 170g- most reliable and accurate driver and it goes far!
Star TL 166g - Hyzer-flips, tailwinds, BH roller, annies
Star Firebird 168g - headwinds, FH, OH, FH roller, temped to say the Star Xcal 172g for a little more stability here, but I could make either work.
Pro Valk 172g - serious distance driver
Roc 180g- versatile mid
Soft Banger GT 174g- best dang putter!

Blowfly - Putter
Gator - Main mid
Elite Zxpress - main driver
Orc - a little more distance/hyzer, a little less control
Shark - control/shaping mid. And backup putter too.
Buzzz - straight, straight, straight

Sometimes I won't even use six in a round. Usually, but not always. Everything else in my bag is either a backup or strictly situational - such as over water, or the rare occasion where a really big turn (either way) is called for.

Latitude 64 Opto Riot - overall driver, flicks, BH, very controlable
Champion Beast- flick drives, srtaight drives

Latitude 64 Opto Core- straight mid range shots
KC Pro Cheetah- long mid rang shots, BH and flicks
beat DX Leopard- anhyzers and S-curve mid range shots

Latitude 64 grip line Spike- putts and aproach

JK Aviar 175 - All around putter and short approach
FLX Buzzz 174 - All around mid
Champ Tee Bird 174 - all around driver
Star Wraith 171 - Straight/hyzerflip driver, anhyzer, longer than Tee Bird
Star Boss 170 - Longer than Wraith, wind, hyzers
FLX Predator 174 - Thumbers, extreme wind

All in Pink of course.

These discs are all of my security blankets for each type of shot. I just fill in a few different distances and extreme shapes for the rest of the bag.

173/174 D Magnet, it's a putter
180 DX Roc, mildly seasoned for all my mid needs
172 Z Stalker, workhorse control driver
170ish Pro Katana, max d/turnovers
175 star Boss (domey), headwind/FH distance
174 opto XXX, overstable duties

As a DG noob:

Champ Orc
Star Starfire
Champ TeeBird
Star Stingray
DX Kite (first run, and the first disc i owned)
RPro Dart

Pretending I acutally was good at this game and could throw somehting other than a fairway driver i would carry:

TL or Leopard - I go back and forth between which I like more, but both are solid fairway drivers
Wraith - max distance driver
Flick - forhand and utility disc

Star Gator - quickly becoming my go to mid-rang disc.
Star Mako - straight shots and anny's

R-Pro Dart - solid putt and approach disc

The more I think of this the more I realize I'm thinking for specific courses. I need to think "globally"

As such I would currently carry:

Z Stalker - general drives. When I want to glide on a drive. When I have a low ceiling or a narrow gap.
Z Talon - Faster, overstable. I can send this thing like an arrow. I'm sure I'll get a lot of use from this.

Dragon - Meathook lefts, gliding drives that are somewhat in the air, water shots.

Z BuzZz - Midrange shots. Anything that needs more distance or action than i can get out of a challenger. Anything I need to go hard left and fast at a somewhat short range.

X Soft Challenger - Short drives, right turns, lofting upshots, putting.

ESP Surge - D
Star Starfire - FH and OH
ESP Nebula - Control
Champ Monarch - understable
QMS - It's pretty

ESP Force- Ball go far and overstable enough for windy conditions

Z Tracker- Best disc in my bag and would be in my bag if I had only 3 discs.

ESP Cyclone- Use this disc for anything including the normal 300-380ft tight tunnel

Halloween Buzz- Good for straight shots and soft hyzers

Z Drone- Hyzers and skips

Magnet- Ching!

A Maximizer for when I need to maximize the D

An Archangel for really windy days
