How far have you thrown in one day?

In a midnight to midnight period, what is the farthest you have thrown based upon course distance from the pads you played. Not actual distance, which will always be more since discs don't land on the perfect line to the pin each throw (a lot more if you are me).

If you want, you can list the courses played or at least how many.

I will start off with a likely low number---about 27,100'--Toboggan twice and Burchfield long to shorts. That is 5.1 miles.

Hmm. Ive played El Dorado, Lamirada front, and back in one day once.

Also played the back course twice and the front once one time at La Mirada.


Couldn't tell ya which positions the pins were in then.

Fun question! I have probably thrown > 20,000' or so on a few occasions, mostly meet-ups some years ago. Nowadays I limit myself to lesser distances to limit wear and tear on creaky joints.

When I was 26 I played DeLa four times in one day, the only day I've ever been there. One of my favorite days in my life. What was the total layout in 1999? I remember playing "Gravity" in almost total darkness there at the end!

Hmm. Maybe 20,000 ish on a couple of occasions. The majority of courses that I play are in the 5400 to 6200 range and there was a time playing three or four in a day was something I did. Haven't done that in a while though. These days two rounds anywhere is about all I can handle in a day.

That's both courses at Boundary Waters, Frog Rock, Hunter, Deer Lick and OP Gold.

Used to always do this in June to get maximum daylight.

Tough one...

I've got a day with 24 on Hudson Mills Monster, 24 on Hudson Mills Original, plus 12 from each layout for warmups with multiple throws on each during those warmups, and then I followed that up playing 27 at Bandemer...

I've got days of 8+ rounds at Ottawa Park here in Toledo but couldn't tell you the exact combination of Longs/Shorts rounds played on those days (where I was a college student with no car over 10 years ago, and would just literally stay at the course all day between 8am class and 6pm class).

I've got days at Highbridge Hills in Wisconsin where I played multiple rounds on Highbridge Gold and then rounds on both Blueberry and Granite.

I've played Toboggan-Tunnel-Toboggan multiple times, back before Kensington replaced Tunnel with Black Locust.

I'm too lazy to do the numbers.

This July 3rd, 400 miles driving, 91 holes played = 35,720' tee to basket. Sasquatch, Rockness, Rock Ridge, Diavolo.

31,771 steps, 10.6 mi, 41 floors.

A two round day is about all I'm good for and generally that is pretty tough.

This is far from the most holes I've played in a day, but it was the longest day trip.

6/9/18. 567 miles. Five courses. 102 holes. 4 states. 38,550 feet.

Runner up is 8/15/20. 450 miles. 9 courses. 109 holes.

The one day, 5 course, 90-hole trips have become chump change.

I would have to look back at my records and figure out exactly what I did but... Back in 2013 I played something like 26 courses in one day. I car camped somewhere along I-80 Nebraska near a 9 hole course. I awoke before the sun was up and played a few with my headlamp. I followed the dinky 9 hole trail until going North towards Columbus/Norfolk. From there I went towards Sioux City, IA and then ended up going through Vermillion, SD and ending my day West of Yankton, SD where I camped again.

In 2012, I played 33 different courses over 2 days. Began in Brookings, SD, went to Des Moines and back.

Funny enough, my longest day was somewhat similar to this. 30,175' hitting both Boundary Waters, Dog River, White Oak, and Hunter.

Hardest day on the other hand would be when I hit Griffin, GA. 5 courses at 28,572', but it was sunny, humid, and 98 degrees all day, and one of my rounds was a tourney round that took over 3 hours of sitting in broad sunlight.

If I go to Caesar Ford, we try to do two rounds of Golds (10,000+ depending on pins) and a "cool down" rounds of Whites (7,000+). No idea if that's the longest one day, just a recent one I can remember.

Some real grinders out there! Might as well open this up to all forms of masochistic behavior--highest # courses (looks like 26 niners may be hard to beat!) and highest # holes played (different and/or the same) are fair game too.

Will have to look at my area map to see the best way to maximize # courses or holes in one 24 hour period. Maybe that could be some kind of fund-raiser or something. A disc-a-thon? Not sure if I could bend over that many times in one day though. I can throw with both hands, so that would help a little.

But 26 different courses in one day? With driving? Dang. That one may stand.

That area is amazing for both quantity and relative quality I think. Though I don't have any desire to play Dog River in the near future. Probably the course that most dislike that isn't in theory not that bad.

We need to do another round sometime soon. I'm thinking of hitting up some courses your way like Alexander/Lenora let me know if you want to meet up.

In my 20s-40s I would have been in this discussion. All day adventures were common. It's a lot tougher these days. After 18, I'm looking forward a break. I've done 36 holes in one day, but I can't see myself getting more than that in a day.

Those two are filled by the same slot for me. One December day I played 7 courses in Chattanooga, coming in at 97 holes and about 28,000'. If East Brainerd Church of Christ hadn't been hit by a tornado a few months before, it would have been my first 100 hole day. Shout out to Cerealman for taking down 4 of those 7 courses with me on a nippy morning.
