This course also has very little elevation. Houck even admitted that the course lacks elevation.

If you mean "first course this year" then maybe. It all depends on what your criteria for "course worth seeing" is.

Otherwise, no. There have been courses this good and better on tour, no matter what your criteria is. WR Jackson is a great course. But it's also 15 years old, and Houck has gotten even better at his craft since then. I can't want to see the designs he talked about in his Upshot interview last week.

Yeah I meant first this year. BEast isn't bad but I've seen it a bunch because it's always at the beginning of the year when I'm still watching

Felt bad for Tattar. Upshot hit a root or something and instead of skipping towards the basket hopped back and ends up in in c2. Then forced to straddle way out left and the whiffed putt hits a root and rolls about 15-20 feet out into c2. Think she rushed that putt to tie a bit though. Maybe should have leaned out right snd gave it a floaty hyzer run around the trees on the putt to win to keep a miss close instead of an anhyzer run.

Yes, it was a risk throwing the sidearm Harp approach because the close gap forced her to "punch it" through with a little speed, versus a patent pending she could have floated it more ... but I don't fault her. She got very unlucky,b/c that Harp shot was spot on and would have nestled no less than 15-18 feet away without the root hit. In my experience I always think, "when in doubt go with MY better shot," which is what she did. I also don't fault here fro going for the win. versus laying up and taking Paige to a playoff, which she could have done.

It was also very VERY fortunate for Paige who's second throw went into the dense woods on the right on anyhyzer, and somehow punched out to a 50' wide open eagle putt -- allowing Paige to putt for the win immediately or if missed still get the birdie.

First time hearing of or watching Gavin Babcock and man is he annoying to watch to me. All the warm ups and pump fakes, not my cup of tea.

He was playing on Barsby's card Saturday so we followed them for about 7 holes. The dude is super friendly and has incredible game. I had your same sentiments after watching him on coverage during the Tallahassee Open but definitely changed my mind after watching and interacting with him in person.

It was incredible to watch him go on a total heater Saturday for the first 6 holes. He threw the exact same shot on hole 5 that he did on Jomez coverage from yesterday (Sunday). Barsby called for it to go in and it ended up skipping and hitting the koozie under the basket. Definitely gonna be pulling for him the rest of the season and I hope he continues to play well.

On coverage they said he has all of 6 career wins, all C tiers. Likely a regional player.

Just looked at the raiting for Pauls insane last round, , ,and i feels like it was raited quite low

I think the lack of OB here plays a large part in why the rating for such an incredible round seems low

Looks like Kristins daugther walked with her and was asked to leave mid round or Tattar would be disqualified

From her instagram:

Secondly I just wanted to tell you I have the best daughter in the world. She is so tough and brave even at a young age. It turned out in the middle of the final round that she could not walk with me and had to go into the crowd (plus I had to find her a supervisor) otherwise I might be disqualified. I was so confused and my heart was racing at that moment, but I can't imagine being 9 and in a foreign country/culture and asked to leave from beside your parent to walk with strangers. I know I would have probably cried when in her shoes, but she was so tough and went with one of the volunteers. I'm so proud of her for being so brave!

Its incredible. I've described a round out there where I shot E (68) as one of the most focused and careful 990s I've ever shot. I shot great, the mistakes I made were on REALLY HARD holes (like my par on 14 where I threw my second shot from near 18's basket), I felt like I played much more precisely than in most 1000+ rounds I've shot (I've got about 125 I think). And McBeth goes out there and STEAMROLLS that by 16 shots. It feels like his rating should start with an 11. Just off feel.

Like I get the OB related reasoning, and the way the field doesn't separate the same way it does on an open big-precise-distance-focused layout like stuff out in Arizona. But geez does -16 feel like an 1100 plus.

Complete chicken**** of a call.

Chuck: What is the error on rating? On a typical round, or maybe even on a round on this difficulty of course if you've got it, what is the estimated error? Like, is this a 1091 +/- 12?

Here's what I want to know - the crowd is pretty damn close isn't it? Were they much further away than I'm imagining? I'm imagining the crowd barrier near the players being within 10-15 yards, and the volunteer found to supervise her ensuring that her daughter stays in the front of that crowd in sight at all times? I can't imagine anyone in the crowd being a jerk and complaining about Tattar's daughter getting to be front and center in prime viewing every hole.

For the record - I'm 100% in agreement with the notion that it is idiotic that this was brought up 9 holes into the final round. I understand completely if Kristin was thrown off a bit by it. But I also need get context on where her daughter had to watch from before I go after the PDGA for doing this in some PARTICULARLY club-handed fashion.

There's good reason the PGA tour goes through Augusta this time every year.

I hope the hotels in Augusta dropped down from their "Masters Rate".

See my notes in post 19 in the thread "Are Ratings Worthless". With that many props in the round, the calculation error is less than +/- 4 points each round. The official rating looks like it may come up to 1092 maybe 1093.
