A top 10 course your home course?

I live about 45 minutes from Hawk Hollow but have yet to make it there. Must get to that this coming year.

What? No offense, but do you consider a 45 minute drive a long one? Over the summer I have been playing at a course about 45 minutes away at least once a week. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me. :)

Indeed. My DG life started in Maryland with Seneca, and Patapsco predominately (I still hit those regularly). Then I took years off. I just learned of these awesome VA courses in the last year or so. Looking forward to playing them.

I'm with you on Seneca, I've been playing there since it opened, I consider it my home course even though I live near Dulles. Patapsco is great too, especially now with the new tees and and permanent C pins.

Better get to Hawk Hollow soon, it'll be closing soon for a couple months for cattle breeding season. It would probably be better choice this time of year as I imagine the leaves wouldn't be as much of an issue as at The Grange. Can always swing over there and play Tiki after hitting HH.

Bout 30 from Milo McIver, home of the Beaver State Fling...and about 15 minutes from Pier Park, I'd consider both the cream of the crop when it comes to Pacific Northwest Disc Golf.

I have only been in Colorado 6 months or so and have made a few trips to Beaver Ranch and I too have yet to get to Phantom Falls! Probably wont be this year, but first thing in the spring though. Maybe our votes would break it into the top ten?

i just back from a road trip from Seattle to DFW and stopped and played the "dirty 50"

lots of fun....kicked my ass walking up and down the mountains

I have to agree with Cyclops above when he mentions that traveling outside of his region has been a letdown...I still have not found anywhere as amazing as my home turf for quality courses. (Jordan, Nockamixon, Etc.)

Ahem.....

from your review said:
I can't say enough on the premium disc golf here and the enjoyable peaceful atmosphere. The holes on the other side of Starr Rd' elevate this course to amongst the best I have played. Just a beautiful round.

Just bustin' ya, J :p

I'm not going to disagree with you here. That said, although it's a pretty hefty geographic footprint relative to the Lehigh Valley, the state of Maine has some QUALITY courses.

No top 10 near me, but no shortage of good (or bad!) courses either.

Within 30 minutes...

Arboretum / Spiker Canton Ohio
Malone College DGC Canton Ohio
Boettler Park Green Ohio
Wildwood, Louisville Ohio
Portage Lakes, Portage Lakes Ohio
Wingfoot State Park, Mogadore Ohio
Oak Ledges, Massillon Ohio
Deis Hill, Dover Ohio
Memorial Park, Alliance Ohio

Then I have Roscoe Ewing, Moraine State Park, Knob Hill and a few other nice courses a reasonable drive away. I'm happy just having Arboretum nearby, but having Massillon, Dover, Medina etc. a short drive away is very nice. No top ten but I can't complain, plenty of solid courses around.

Dont forget about Deer Lakes

Flyboy is about 1 hr 45 min from my house. I should be playing it once it gets a little warmer.

My two closest courses aren't anything special, but the other courses close to me are a pleasure to play though. I would play East Roswell more, but traffic is always horrible getting over there and the course is so unforgiving.

But within 5 miles, there is:
1 course rated 5 discs (Flyboy)
5 courses rated 4 discs (Perkerson, J.P. Mosely, Indian Creek, White Oak, Redan)
and 3 courses rated 3.5 discs (Central Park, Alexander, East Roswell)

Haven't played most of those, but not bad, right?

Little over an hour from Flip City. I was lucky enough to play there and/or a Ludington course every single weekend this summer. And, no, it never got boring-even sometimes playing there three days in a row.

Father in law's house is 45 minutes from Flip City. I live in Columbus, OH. Play that course about 3 times a year. I love Western Michigan disc golf courses!

Ya, I feel very fortunate to be able to play such nice courses. Every time I play a city course, all I can think about is going up North.

I wish I could go play some other "Top Ten" courses so I could argue about which one is the best.:p

I find it funny how many of you are so close to top 10 courses and still only go once or twice a year. I drive way further than that to play courses not neer as highly rated.

Come to Pittsburgh!! I'll show you Deer Lakes and Moraine! And there is another Championship course going in as we type.

UGH, I miss ATL more and more everyday... Soooooo many courses in the area and even more within a 2 hour driving radius.

Get out and play all of em.. I miss my home course at Redan, Perk is only up on the second Sunday of each month in the winter :(... White Oak is a fun hilly course, and of course, Flyboy is the shizzzzzzzzz
