I was also a long-time Flash thrower. I used to carry 4 Flashes with wildly different stabilities.
I found the Legacy Nemesis to be the best replacement for the understable Flash variety. Glow Nemesis on the more stable/straight side, and Icon/Sparkles can get really understable. But the...
Do you actually want to use it to play catch with someone to practice? Or just looking for a "catch style" disc, as a first step in transitioning between Ultrastars and disc golf drivers?
If you want to actually play catch, any of the lid-style discs you mentioned before would be OK if you pick...
In practice rounds I’ll park it 9/10 times backhand with a Z Comet. Then in a tournament I’ll inexplicably decide to throw a forehand Firebird flex shot that digs into the hill and rolls to 50 feet.
Yea, I saw the video they posted after he tied it up on 18. My immediate thought when I saw the clip was "oof, people are going to lose their minds over that step putt." Immediately it exploded with comments. Then they posted the winning playoff putt and it was just as bad.
Lots of garbage in...
Has anyone thrown one of the Feldberg Wizards? Extra overstable Wizard sounds interesting, I assume more glide than a Scale but similar stability?
The Superglows I picked up last season were surprisingly overstable for Wizards, but they straightened out pretty quickly with some wear. If these...
Yea this course has really grown on me over the last couple years. It's about an hour from home, so I only play it when our local traveling club has league night there.
It seems at first glance like it should be an easy course, but it's not. Usually there is huge scoring separation here. There...
This is a pretty straightforward left-to-right dogleg, about 290'. Looks like the description/pictures are from when the course was just going in. Nowadays that bushy stuff on the left is just a big sea of tall, swampy grass. Hang it out left and you might spend a while searching with wet feet...
Throw whatever works. In my experience it’s more about knowing your individual discs well.
Discs can be from the same manufacturer, plastic, and mold, but feel and fly drastically differently from each other in some cases. You still have to learn how your individual discs fly.
I used a Discraft Weekender for like 15 years for quick/casual rounds. When my first one wore out I replaced it with another for less than the cost of a disc. Totally fine for most casual rounds.
It wasn't until recently that I decided I needed some more storage. Mainly driven by travel rounds...
When I travel for work I tend to throw together a small bag of misfits from my storage stash instead of taking regular favorites. It's a similar exercise. Usually I'll shoot just as well with 6-8 discs that I've rarely/never thrown before. Just cover the major slots and don't pick anything too...
I ordered my custom Octo just about 2 years ago and it was $450 at the time. Same bag would be $499 now.
Not such a big jump considering the increase in demand since then, and probably also a significant increase in raw material and shipping costs. They have also added some options that push...
Revo Deluxe Mini is on order! I have been using a super old Discraft Weekender for quick 9-hole lunch rounds and travel rounds. I'm always wishing I had room for just one or two more, especially when I take my kid to play. I think it will be perfect.
