    I know this girl...

some of us love DG from the start, even though we're girls McFly recommends a staged introduction to the sport, which I suppose is how many/most women are introduced, though I stand as evidence that it's conservative to suggest that all females want to stop playing after nine holes. I like...

Deerfield Park, Irvine CA to Reopen in DAYS!

Shooting for April Fool's Day Opening We played the new Deerfield Park course today. They've made great progress and believe the course will be finished by April Fool's Day. The rubber teepads are in, and they are really nice: mounted on beds of crushed rock, they should not become mudholes...

Review by nexanimal in course Private Anderson Park

2.00 star(s) Fun little course - easy/shady - convenient central LA location, on a major street (Wilmington) between two freeways (405 & 91) - many challenging shots uphill and downhill, and baskets surrounded by trees or with tree- and obstacle-obstructed approaches - shady, breezy location is near the top...

Funniest/weirdest thing you've seen on the course

Wow! I'm going up there tomorrow. I'm betting they don't have their "parties" on the weekends... My question is this: why do these people have to litter the park? "Pack it in, pack it out" ... <so to speak>

Funniest/weirdest thing you've seen on the course

Beehive in the basket! Yesterday I played two rounds at Twyla Reid Park in Anaheim, CA, which is an entertaining local-park-9-holer. The basket used for holes 1 & 6 was wrapped with caution tape, but it looked OK. On closer examination, we found a small colony of bees that has built their...

How do you arrange the discs in your bag?

I still have a small collection so I just sort them by color. My standard bag includes a putter outside, one orange, two pinks, two whites, and two yellows. Easy to spot any missing discs this way.

Review by nexanimal in course Twila-Reid Park

1.50 star(s) OK once you figure it out, local knowledge needed - pretty park - local to a large part of L.A. - friendly local players are happy to help you figure out the course - soccer players are happy to move if they are practicing on the fairway - course is hard to figure out, 1st tee is a long way...

Ever caught someone with your disc?

Did you also have your phone number, PDGA number, or anything that would have allowed the person who found it to contact you? It seems harsh to get mad at someone who picked a disc with no contact info out of a "lost and found" pile when there was no way he could contact you. I'd do the same...
