Review by Tiggertooth in course Audubon Park

4.00 star(s) Greatly improved I played Audobon years ago, and had a number of issues with the course, much of it due to what turned out to be temporary problems. I (finally) had a chance to play it again. Greatly improved. The layout is good, there's plenty of parking at the start, and the general flow is...

Making my own backpack from scratch; feature ideas?

One feature I haven't seen in a bag yet is a dedicated spot for a Golden Retriever. I'd like it to be away from everything else, its own special spot, fit snuggly, have excellent drainage, but also be exposed to the air so that it dries better. My Golden Retriever comes out of the creeks...

Disc Golf Coming to the PS3

I bought the Playstation Move on Saturday. The package deal comes with Sports Champions, which includes the Disc Golf activity. I also bought an extra control so my wife and I could play together. She's been playing real disc golf for half a year, and really enjoys the game. I've...

    The Whole "Discing Down" Phenomena

I am a proponent of "discing down." I have gone to a football field and measured quite accurately my throws with a large number of discs. Repeatedly. And I discovered that the slower speed discs I throw farther. So to the person who started this thread, who thought that discing down would...

    HighBridge.....A few Questions

Thanks for the clarification. It's really too bad that there's mixed expectations. I would assume that a major disc golf tournament wouldn't be profitable for anyone except the people actually collecting the entry fees, and even then I would expect it to be not-very profitable. :-( I liked...

    HighBridge.....A few Questions

Some friends and I spent a weekend at Hybrid Hills, er, Highbridge Hills, shortly after the 2007 Worlds. What did the PDGA do to make John upset? What went wrong? (For the record, we had a great time at Highbridge--it was an all-around positive experience.)

    [Discraft] Buzzz not fading?

I throw my Buzz around 260ft max. Beyond that I don't have any control over it. If thrown flat it fades noticeably. I would bet the reason you don't get any fade is because you have so much spin on it. Your velocity is running out at 350' but your spin isn't.

    This made me laugh.

    Throwing Midrange Discs

I'm a big believer in looking solely at the target on approach shots. I'd defined approach shots here as something you can reach without having to look away :-) If the shot is far enough that you really need to twist your torso to get the reach back, then it clearly isn't an approach. I have...

    Discs for beginner female?

Thanks for the feedback Volklgirl and roadtripstuff! I appreciate it. We'll try playing more rounds of catch (we've only done that some).

    Discs for beginner female?

This has been an interesting thread for me. This spring my partner has been joining me on Sunday mornings to play. She's just over 5 feet, on the heavy side, and older (54). She has never been athletic in her life, so it has been quite a enjoyable revelation to her that she can learn the...

    New course in plano texas?

I'll add one more thing. The cities that put in nice courses (examples around Dallas are Mesquite, Rockwall, Arlington, etc.) and the ones that have had nice courses for quite a while (most the other courses in the area) all create a significantly more positive image of the place for me. That...

    New course in plano texas?

It is cool that FritoLay put in a course. I have stock in PepsiCo, so technically I own part of the company. Maybe that'll get me in :-) My biggest disappointment is in Plano itself. It's a large, wealthy, suburb of Dallas. And has some really nice parks. But the only disc golf courses I...

    Fade Tourney bag

I got the u shaped thingee with my Fade bag, but I didn't see any other way to divide up the discs. That is, there isn't a way to divide up drivers from mids from putters. I tend to just slide a disc back at the end of the row and as a result they get mixed up over time. You wouldn't think...

What is the purpose of the new Ching baskets?

Despite it being April Fool's, I think the basket is conceptually a good idea. If disc golf got rid of the chains, we'd hear a lot less bitching about how unfair the basket was, the chains pushed my disc back out, oh what crappy baskets these are, etc. I hear that gripe several times during...
