    Anti-Noob courses?

It has been my experience that its not noobs that do these things. Its the old dicks that look down on us noobs. I know that a huge bag of discs is no indication of ones time playing but a noob would not necessarily denote the amount you play. BUT, I have mostly seen guys with huge bags of disc...

Twin Cities area course vandalized by idiots protesting new user fees

Many of the courses I play are city park types. Open fields, swingsets, slides, etc. These parks require $0 extra. If you charged me a dollar/day to play Monticello, I would never go back. My issue is that once a .gov passes a new fee or tax, it never goes away. We pay an extra .5% sales tax to...

Twin Cities area course vandalized by idiots protesting new user fees

What a bunch of ass hats. While I dont condone this, I wonder how much of a cut the Fairway Flyerz get? I think I would need to see some kind of course improvement before deciding to start paying to play. If they would make improvements or do things like keep the fairways groomed and t boxes...

    Hocking Peaks Pricing Policy

Sure its a lot cheaper than a dinner or movie or blah blah blah, but it is one of the last FREE hobbies out there. If the trend becomes like the park in St Paul then I will have to quit playing. I enjoy the time with my wife and kid. If all of a sudden its $24, 30, or $36 for a round, I'm done...

Review by ejsandstrom in course Lions Park III

2.00 star(s) Good beginner course The big thing for me is, its close. However its usually not busy, with 2 - 3 holes in between groups. The first tee over the water can be tricky if you miss throw. The 9th hole off of the hill is fun. I like having 2 tees per hole. A group with different level players can...

    The Dumbest Putt Ever Missed

I hate when you miss completely from 0-15' but can manage to put every other disc from your bag in.

How Far Do You Go To Return Discs?

Whats the trick for the $2.41 postage? Just slap a sticker on the disc it self? Or bubble mailer? I have found as many as I have lost. Only 1 with a number, Called guy said to keep it. Ususally the only time I find them is when I can find the one I threw. Lost a wraith found an Avenger. If we...

Is there a need for more disc golf stores? What would be an ideal store?

There is a store here that seems to do very well. Its nice to be able to look at the bags and actually see how big they are or touch the disc you want. The guys that work there are VERY knowledgeable. I think that would be key to success. If I walk into a store and they have a HS kid that barely...

    Lost Disc - Your opinion

I have found 3 and lost one. One that I found had a name and number on it. I walked to the next tee and called the guy. It was out in the open and I thought he could still be playing. He said he lent them to a friend and he lost it. Told me to keep it. The second, no name or number just...

When is it ok to say FROLF

Really? Are we that worried about what someone else calls it? Lets be honest we take discs and throw them around in a park. Its not brain surgery. I don't want my surgeon calling body parts other names but the guy at the shoe store can use what ever term he wants. We will dye designs on...

Bad throws begat bad throws problem

I have games where the wheels just fall off. And it starts with one bad shot. Im in the woods and get a 4 on a 3 next thing I know and Im bouncing off every tree and end up with a 7 on a 3. If Im by myself, I will usually quit at this point. If I am with someone else, I will just take a 5 minute...

    too hot? wet t-shirt time!

Evaprorative cooling does not work very well in MN. To humid. Not to mention, I swear I am half vampire. I burn in the shade in 70* weather. What works for me is drinking VERY COLD water. Almost to the point of brain freeze.

How any holes/rounds in 1 day or weekend?

I was wondering what is the most you have played in a single day or weekend? For me it is 45 in a day and 53 in a weekend. On a side note, are tourneys usually 1 18 hole day or multiple days?

I cought up with 3 guy that were practicing and they let me join for a few holes. After they left I kept going. Sure enough I find a disk on 9. No name...

Frogg Togg Chillypad...you DO want one

We have a couple of these that look like a rolled up bandanna. We use them on the dogs. They are a life saver for our 2 Boxers. Thingfling had some, like 2 cases of 24 for $12 plus shipping. I tried to order them but it did not go thru and the deal was over by the time it was sorted.

Review by ejsandstrom in course Riverside Park

3.50 star(s) Lots of elevation changes and differing layouts. Multiple pin placements. Great parking and easy to find. Baskets are well maintained. There are a lot of throws that need to be used. You have to plan shots with some being raw power and others strategy. 10 is a fun hole as its the most wide open...

Review by ejsandstrom in course Sportsmans Hill - Old Layout

3.00 star(s) 18 holes. 17 is a monster for beginners. 16 is a nice down hill that builds confidence for 17 to take away. 2 tees on every hole. Garbage containers on every hole. You have to think about shot placement rather then just ripping it. Lots of trees to worry about. Not busy. Very good use of a...

Review by ejsandstrom in course Becker City Park

4.00 star(s) Nice variety of terrain and elevation. The Pro tees can add difficulty not just distance. It requires you to use a variety of shots on most holes. It is well marked for a 10 hole cut off. Baskets are in reasonable shape. The 800 yard hole is a nice feature. A few blind holes make this a well...
