Review by Mud Boy in course Rollin Ridge

5.00 star(s) Disc Golf Heaven With three baskets per hole and 3 tees on most, there's a huge variety of shots. There's an element of danger on the pond holes. Benches everywhere and walls and terraced holes, dragons in the trees, bridges and stairs and platforms. Big tee pads with rock borders, some with...

Who else is excited for the latest Ridge Roller?

I made my own. It wasn't that hard.

    Highbridge Hills - Wisconsin

I'm one of those old disc golfer hippies from the northwoods, but that's not my point. Of course he takes care of everyone, he's a great host. All I'm saying is that a "mecca" of any sport should probably not be so shaggy and shabby. Highbridge is a diamond in the rough, all it needs is a little...

Practicing disc golf in a barn or warehouse (michigan)?

No he's not. I'm 61 and I played in a blizzard yesterday. I call it adventure golf. Forget about long drives and rollers, get your asses outside and have some fun. Go big or stay home.

    Delta Cart

The ridge roller is twice the cart for 30-40% less than the delta with excellent customer service from Joe. A no-brainer.

    Highbridge Hills - Wisconsin

If you're going to call yourself the mecca of disc golf, you should probably have it together a little more. Just sayin'.

So, how did you play today?

I did fairly well today. My putting still sucks, but I tried a new putter today that might solve at least some of my problems. I spent probably half an hour helping my two buddies look for their ribbon-less discs in the snow (I'm ribboned up). I've been playing the reds for the last two weeks...

    Highbridge Hills - Wisconsin

Just what Highbridge needs, a manager who is dedicated to disc golf. This will allow John to chase his dreams and the complex won't suffer for it. I hope Jonathon sticks around too.

    Calling it Frolf...

I assume that non-disc golfers aren't very bright so to them I say frisbee golf very slowly until I see the light bulb over their head come on. To everyone else it's chuckin' plastic or whippin'.

So, how did you play today?

I played my usual schizophrenic round, brilliant genius on one hole, drooling doofus on the next.

    Delta Cart

    Yup, me too.

True Reason Why Disc Golf Isn't Becoming Main Stream

It has nothing to do with pay for play. I've been told by at least three private course owners that it keeps the riffraff out. In fact, I think that p-f-p is the future of disc golf. What I'm talking about is an attempt in some areas to "gentrify" the sport to attract the moneyed elite to start...

Where are you headed in your disc golf journey?

I'm going to play leagues next year because I can't get anybody my age (61) to even consider playing disc golf and I'm tired of playing alone.

Post a NOT cool disc golf photo

I don't have much use for beer drinkers when they do stuff like this. It's not a trash can.

Best cold weather sports gloves for disc golfing in the cold months?

I've been throwing with Thermax glove liners on. They are thin and skin tight and, although not very grippy, they work quite well.

    Winter DG Shoes

Sheet metal screws screwed into the soles. It works. Just don't get them too long.:D

This newb has FINALLY figured it out!

That's exactly how I started. I made the same mistakes you did, bought plastic that I wasn't ready for, the whole nine yards. Now two years later, I'm up to max weight stable to slightly understable drivers and mids that I can actually control most of the time. I still can't throw much farther...

    Another old fart

I just turned 61 and started playing again last year after a thirty year absence. I played for a while in the mid 80's but when I moved back up north, there was nowhere to play so I forgot about it. I've been making up for lost time by playing every chance I get, and my game is slowly starting...
