I get it that they are trying to get more views, etc, etc. But seriously...a simple Facebook public poll would have been just fine. smh...

I can't speak for ALL the park goers, but I'd assume most of them who are there know disc golf is played, and what that means as far as danger. Then again, there's an oblivious one in every crowd.
Uh..., not actually. The numbers say it'll be higher ratings for half the 980-990 players, and lower ratings for half the 980-990 players.

Let's take a look at last year:
So, yeah, about half at that range.
Looking at the magnitude, not just whether the average round rating was higher or lower, we can see that last year the event seemed to lower ratings for those rated less than 1010 and raise ratings for those rated higher than 1010. 980-990 rated players did get hit less hard than 970-980 or 990-1000, which may be the source of the perception that it's good for 980-990 rated players' ratings.

Here's a study I did 5 years ago breaking out the numbers in a bit more detail than Steve's chart. This might shed some light why the top players tend to average better than their ratings and lower rated players average lower at the Memorial: https://www.pdga.com/why-so-many-1100s-at-memorial
