In the pre tourney interviews McBeth was asked about the 2 course format and he said something about it being more difficult for players to get practice rounds in—don't want to put words in his mouth. Just gave me the impression that it might be an issue for some. Also, seemed like Emporia is a bit of a logistics challenge. Finding place to stay, having to arrive earlier in the week than usual, etc.
But you've been there and done that, so enlighten me if I'm way off.
Relative the tops guys this is NOT a Brodie course. We just watched a video about him developing his 500+ power. Maybe in a year. If he doesn't putt he doesn't compete.Ezra mentioned that one reason he regrets not playing in the DDO is that is is perfect for his game. I recall hearing elsewhere that the DDO is great for the bombers/strong-arm players. Brodie is a bomber/strong-arm player, so maybe that is why he is doing so well at this tournament.
Brodie skipped MAO to get in more time in Emporia. That should not be his problem. In the pre tourney interviews McBeth was asked about the 2 course format and he said something about it being more difficult for players to get practice rounds in—don't want to put words in his mouth. One shot behind the final USDGC spot for this event which is something he said he wanted to do here.
Why wouldn't he have gotten in a practice round there?

I couldn't locate how many spots for USDGC are available in this event, where is this information available at? Thanks.
I highly prefer 2 or more course layout. It makes watching the coverage a great deal more interesting, especially if you are watching more than one card. I seem to get some course fatigue when watching the same course for every round of tourney and will in turn end up watching less coverage.
MJ...i feel like Brodie struggles with hitting small gaps off the tee backhand with power....being a bigger guy like him ,with a big swing....do you have any one thing to focus on to help in those situations?
I find myself forcing forehands to make sure i make the gap but it doesnt fit the shot. I see this with Brodie too.
Rough one for Brodie in the wind today... +3 995
Wind is it's own thing kind of like tight woods. Wind not only reduces the margin of error, it makes it a variable.
Yep... That 5 putt Berela had was painful to watch.
