Jdw80550 Bag thread

I haven't got an up close look at a giant. Tried a world and didn't care for it. Any thoughts? I've got a couple of destroyers but they don't make me say wow...

So I've been having some serious release issues with my drivers dropped down to:

Max Distance:
Proline Tsunami, 173g- Headwinds
Proline Tsunami, 168g- Big S shots
SP Undertow, 172g- Turnovers, tailwinds

Main Discs
Z Comet, 177+g- turnover, straight w/ no fade
Crystal Buzzz, 177+g- Straight w/ slight fade
ESP Wasp, 178g- Straight, better anny disc than the buzzz, pretty beat
ESP Wasp, 180g- Straight with hard fade
Lucid Verdict, 175g- FH disc

Putter
SS Wizard, 175g- Putter
Fossil Scale, 175g- Drives, ups

Since I have done it, more ace runs on 300' and less holes, few 4's on 375' and greater holes. Just not making the dumb second shot mistakes out of the ****, where my drives were landing when I was throwing more drives...

Plus, it helps me not to try and press for a crushing drive. I know that I'm going to make it 400' anymore with most of my shots, so just keep it smooth and in the fairway.

So it's been a while, only thing that has changed is I got a whole bunch of discs....

Currently bags will be comprised of:

Distance Drivers:
Force/Nuke- Distance with Fade
Cranks- Main Distance Driver

Control Drivers:
Predator/Tsunami (heavy weights)- OS/Hyzers/Wind
Predator/Tsunami (light weight)/Teebird- Straight with fade
Undertow/Heat/Avenger SS- US/Hyzer-flip/turnover

Mids:
Comets- US/Hyzer-flips/quick annys
Buzzz- Straight shots/slow annys
Wasps- Straight with fade/hyzers/bail out annys
Verdict/Zone- FH

Putters:
Scale- Up-shots/Drives/Wind
Wizard- Putting

So it's been a while....with it being cold and snowy, and me working more than I would like :\ I haven't been able to play a whole lot, but have really solidified things. I will be putting up two bags, an everyday bag, and then the tournament bag.

Everyday Bag
Distance:
Z FLX Crank, 175g- Stable with decent fade
Z Crank, 172g- Tailwind, low power, or power turnover

Control:
Z Pred, 174g- OS/ Hard Hyzers/ Sky Flex shots
GStar Teebird 3, 175g- Straight with fade (bridges the gap between the Pred and Star Teebird)
Star Teebird, 175g- Slower, straight with fade, shot shaping
SP Undertow, 173g- Straight, turnovers, Rollers

Mids:
Z Comet, 180g- Floaty shots, annys that don't come back, straight with no fade
Z Buzzz, 180g- Straight with slight fade, bendy hyzers, low shots
ESP Wasp, 180g- Straight with hard fade, flex shots, hyzer shots
Z Wasp, 180g- Windy day, very tight hyzers

Putters:
Fossil Scale, 175g- OS Putter, approaches, teeshots
SS Wizard, 175g- Putter

Tournament Bag
Distance Drivers:
Z Nuke, 175g- Beef, Wind, Big sweeping hyzers
SP Crank, 173g- Straight with Solid fade
Z Crank, 172g- Straight with slight fade
ESP Crank, 172g- Tailwinds/Turnovers

Control:
Z Pred, 175g- Fresh lots of beef
Z Pred, 175g- Straight with solid fade
Champ Teebird, 175g- Straight with slightly less fade than pred
Star Teebird, 175g- Straight small fade/ line shaping
SP Undertow, 174g- Fresh
SP Undertow, 173g- Straight/Turnover
Z A-SS, 173g- hyzer-flip turnover, Rollers

Mids:
ESP Comet, 178g- Turnovers, hyzer-flips
Z Comet, 180g- Fresh, straight, floaty shots
Z Buzzz, 180g- Straight, line drives
Z Buzzz, 180g- Fresh
Z Wasp, 177g- Straight with fade
Z Wasp, 180g- Wind/ Hyzers
Z Flx Zone, 174g- Utility OS or FH approach

Putter:
Fossil Scale, 175g- OS BH approaches, Drives
SS Wizard, 175g- Main Putter
SS Wizard, 175g- Backup Putter/Risky shots

There is quite a bit of overlap, especially in the tournament bag, but that is more for my own protection of losing a disc than actual use.

Comments or Questions are always welcome.

So, not a lot has changed in bags, however I an issue.

I am playing in the GBO this year would like to support these guys. They put on great tournaments. So with the that in mind, can anyone recreate my bag or make disc suggestions based on my bag with trilogy?

I am starting to test out a cluvern instead of the predator/tsunami.

The sword is good replacement for the crank as long as their good ones.

Bard is a good wasp replacement. But after that...

I find myself acquiring more and more dd discs, actually. The truth is awesome, a little more os buzz, faster too. The verdict is the os compliment to that, and the evidence (supposedly, haven't thrown one) is the understable compliment. They should all feel the same in the hand too.

Felon is beefy, maybe similar to the pred. Escape is the stable/understable fairway.

The enforcer and trespass also feel very similar and cover os to stable distance duties, respectively.

Outside of dynamic, I don't have a lot of experience! Just my two cents! Cheers!

So been playing quite a bit, and doing very solid. Not spectacular, but solid.

Putting has been lights out, made a change in how I line up and release, with huge success.

Played the GBO and OB killed me the first day. Took 12 OB strokes on Thursday round. Worked hard to come back strong, and the putting saved me.

Due to the issues with the wind, OB, and elevation change, took the distance drivers out for a while. I may put them back in, but right now, I'm just not getting the right release with them. I may switch to a 9-10 control, like the Orcs. Anyone have suggestions for a trilogy control?

Got a couple of discs I'm trying out.
  • Verdict- faster than my wasps, but very much my style of disc
  • Longbowman- trying to see if it would replace or bridge TB and Tsunami
  • Culverin- Same as the longbowman

Bag:

Driver
  • SP Tsunami- 175g, Beef
  • Proline Tsunami- 175g- Straight with hard fade
  • Star Teebird- 175g- Straight with slight fade
  • Star Teebird- 175g, backup
  • SP Undertow- 175g, Straight to Turnover
  • G* Gazelle- 175g, short straight or turnovers

Mids
  • Z Comet- 180g, Straight to turnover
  • Z Buzzz- 180g, Straight or flare hyzer
  • ESP Wasp- 180g, Slow, straight heavy fade, slow hyzer
  • BioFusion Verdict- 177g, Fast straight with hard fade, Hyzer
  • Lucid Verdict- 178g, FH, Wind, Backup

Putters
  • SB Wizard- 175g, Putter
  • Fossil Wizard- 175g, Drives, FH Annys
  • Fossil Scale- 175g, Hyzer approaches, chip shots, hyzer drives

It's been a very solid set for me lately. I love the way the fossil plastic feels, the way I throw it for drive, but just don't like it much for putts. The SB wizard is puddle topped and just buttery smooth. If I could find more like it, I'd buy them all...

Distance Drivers
  • Lucid Defender, 174g- OS Hyzers/Wind/FH Flex
  • Lucid Defender, 166g- Big distance with reliable fade
  • SP Crank, 174g- Big straight distance
  • Z Crank, 175g- Turnovers

Control
  • Z Predator, 175g- OS/Utility
  • Proline Tsunami, 175g- Straight with hard fade
  • Champ Teebird, 175g- Straight with fade
  • Color Glow Teebird, 175g- in-between the star and champ (really in case I lose one of the others)
  • Star Teebird, 175g- Straight with slight fade, line shaper, woods
  • SP Undertow, 173g- Straight/FH
  • SP Undertow, 173g- Turnovers

Mids
  • Z Comet, 177+g- Straight/turnovers
  • Z Buzzz, 177+g- Straight with slight fade
  • Lucid Verdict, 177g- straight with fade
  • Lucid Verdict, 178g- Straight with hard fade/FH Approaches
  • ESP Wasp, 180g- Hyzers and Wind

Putters
  • Fossil Scale, 175g- Up-shots/flex drives/Floaty FH approaches
  • Fossil Wizard, 175g- Straight Drives/Approaches/FH Annys
  • SB Wizard, 175g- Putter (Nothing else)

So added the Defender to my bag to try and compliment my Cranks. They have outperformed all of my expectations. They hold power well, while still being workable. The 166g holds the same initial line as my SP Cranks, but has a much more reliable fade. I could see these kicking out the Cranks as the main driver. Plus, these things are speedy. Not a ton of glide, but it makes up for it with the speed.

Still struggling with the Verdict/Wasp issue. I know the wasps so well, got an ace with one last week, but it just doesn't have the same distance potential as the Verdict. I don't mind carrying both, but it feels like a waste of effort. :\

Been working on my FH and it's getting better. Not good by any means, but serviceable out to 250'ish, which is about all I ever need it for. It seems like most FH hole go from 200-300', then jump up to 400', which just ain't going to happen.

Putting has still been solid, my routine is so fast and quick, it costs me about a stroke a round, but when I try to slow down, I just fall apart, so I have just come accept the stroke.

As always, thoughts are always welcome.

Just a thought: Add the Hornet to your Verdict/Wasp issue?

If your putting stroke is working, by all means accept it and drive on (okay, putt on) with it. :)
