[Discmania] Power Driver Freak PEEDEE Thread

I have finally seasoned my S-PD into a magnificent flying instrument. It only took 9 years, but it's now the most shapable, easy distance, control driver I've ever thrown. It doesn't flip over like my P-PD did after a few of months of use. It just flies on the line I give it- no questions asked. The only negative is that it will flip up from a pure hyzer rather than holding the hyzer line like it used to.

To quote a modern philosopher: "Ain't nobody got time fo dat."

:D
But seriously, you better get a new one ASAP for the 2030 season. They're supposed to be out later this year. I'm still working on a c-line FD, and it looks like it'll be ready late this decade if I'm lucky.

Production Update Aug '21

excerpted from discmania.net.

ORIGINALS
The question on all Discmaniacs minds has been, what is going on with Originals production? We are currently running our first D-Line P2 run and things with that are going very smoothly. You can expect to see the new D-Line P2 stock release to happen in late September or October.
Aside from the new P2s, we are also now running our first C-Line discs, the MD3! Early feedback has been great, with many Team Discmania players, including Simon Lizotte, Eagle McMahon and Kyle Klein immediately adding the C-Line MD3 to their bags. Our best estimates are that we'll see stock C-Line MD3s released in late September or October. There is something very magical about this disc and we couldn't be more excited for you to get your hands on one.

Creating and re-creating great discs takes time. We have recently been working with the FD and PD mold, both of which have gone through some retooling. The good news is that the FD mold has been tweaked to perfection and is ready for some machine time. We estimate that the production run should take 7-8 weeks, which would put an FD release some time in October or November.

The PD is still in the testing phase, as we haven't quite gotten it right yet. We want to make it the best and will continue to tweak until it's just right. You can expect to hear more on the PD with our next production update.

makes ya wonder...

makes ya wonder...

When and if DM makes it through the transition, I have to think they'll get a PD mold figured out. I mean, they have sold and will sell a shixt-ton of them. Hopefully it won't take 3 tries like the FD2.

In other news, I was browsing ebay and the prices for Dark Mauls and Lone Howls is silly. I have 2 Lone Howls and I think 5 Dark Maul2s. I finally got DG rich, thanks Discmania!

I wonder which version of the PD we will get, the "might as well throw a Firebird" kind or the "longer Teebird" kind? I prefer the longer Teebird.

If they can recapture the magic of the P-PD in better plastic, then it will be a winner.

i would switch back over to pd if they came out with the ppd again

Top 2 are the stiffer, more brittle run. The others are the flat, more flexible run that I cleaned out of DGC when I heard they were going OOP. Bottom 3 are unthrown. Not pictured - the one in my bag.

you got the good colors too

i love that pink one you have

i cant believe i sold my last of my pds when i thought i was going to "quit" dg a handful of years back

sold some great pds including the star patent number tacky ones that glided for days while being super os

the pink freak faced ppd were my jam they werent "brittle" but also werent the "soft" ones either

I have an old pink PPD with the standard freak stamp. Loved the PPD for a bit before I decided to just stick with just the Teebird mold. Actually, my first ace was with a PPD circa 2012 (#10 at Westover park in VA) with a sidearm down a tight gap over the 11th teepad and skipping hard right in the basket.

Mind if I but-in on the P-Line picture party?

Top two are throwers, dead straight or turnover bombers. Middle two are waiting for their chance. Bottom two are the softer plastic - those were never my favorite. I'm a flat and stiff P-Line guy.

Yellow, and especially dayglow work surprisingly well here, though pink is fantastic as always. IMO, people put too much stake in their color preference. Just keep your eyes open.
I've only ever left one disc behind, and it was a white Wizard. Despite all of the nearly yellow pine needles around, the biggest concern are those sun-bleached dead or downed branches.

RIP my flippy PD
