The Ask MJ & Comet Love Thread

Please ask them not to run that green camoflauge color again. They are harder than heck to see in the long grass ;)

There were a few colors that look sweet, but don't function so well in wooded courses, as far as finding them easily. These next ones should be good on that front.

I was very pleased to rescue a MJ sig tour Comet from the used bin this past weekend. The audacity of someone selling off their MJ sig Comet.

Any plans to play the Great Lakes Open this year? It's a Pro Tour stop!

FYI MJ, your boy Austin Fisher is killing my bank account these past few days with all those pearly goodies for later this month ;)

I'm having a hard time not keeping half of the ones I ordered, can't believe how gorgeous these MJ Comets are! I'm giving out 55 of them next weekend at our Torma Town C tier, gonna be a lot of happy players!

Austin

Hey, I think I posted in this thread a while back looking for advice on comets. Basically, I was looking to replace a perfectly beat KC Roc with something that flies that way out of the box.

Well, I'm happy to say a domey ESP Comet at 171g is that disc. Small flip up to flat when thrown smooth, healthy glide and a mellow, forward fade. Is there anything this mold can't do? ...yeah I guess so, but that's why I also bag a verdict :hfive:

So, I have this Cryztal Comet from the 2013 Brent Hambrick Memorial Open that I just love. The problem is, it's flat topped. That's not the problem, I guess, it's more that I cannot stand having the dome of regular Comets and I love this disc (it's starting to get a bit flippy for shots I normally use it for).

So, does anybody have a suggestion as to where I can find more that are similar? It's such a controllable midrange that I don't want to shop around for a replacement brand, plastic or mold.

Disc Baron has two flat topped ESP Comets, a white 178g and a yellow 177g. http://www.discbaron.com/Discraft-Comet-s/2688.htm

Looking for a little extra stability? I've heard the flatter Ti Comets have a little extra beef (for a Comet).

Flat top Comet = Glow Z Comet

Always, if some one gets a z glow with a dome let me know I haven't seen them. I like the looks of that yellow one at disc baron... I picked up a weird run ESP in yellow that is almost like a Z it's like a hybrid.... Maybe you can be that lucky too.

I have a domey Zglo comet. It's pretty nice
