Best Disc Golf State Poll

The Best Disc Golf State is...

Iowa. They have lots of great courses and nothing else to do. Nobody knows about it becasue even disc golfers won't go there to visit.

The state of bliss after hitting a hole in one or a monster birdie.
:^p

I have not visited every single state with courses so I cannot say which state is the best.

I have spent way too much time looking over a lot of the courses on this web site. Just from hours of drooling over all of the killer courses I would say right off the top of my head wisconsin, kentucky, oregon and west virginia. I prefer heavily wooded courses.

I can't vote for Kentucky as being the best, I don't know enough about the other states for comparison. I've only played 1 course in Indiana (The Fun Farm), and 2 in Missouri (St. Louis area).

The other 21 courses that I've played are in Kentucky. I can say we have some great courses, but for the most part, they are spread out and require some drive time to get from one course to the next with a few exceptions. The Bowling Green area has several courses, many of which are good courses, and the Northern part of the state, near Cincy has some nice courses including Idlewild and Lincoln Ridge.

IMO:
Northern Kentucky (near Cincy, Idlewild, Banklick)
Bowling Green
Louisville
Lexington

I have been to Michigan. My sister, who is a professor, got her first degee in Mich.

Over rated. Too cold for too long. Just my impression.

The locals tell you how wonderful it is quite frequently too.

Isn't this the standard "vote for your own state" question? And yes, I voted for NC.

Not a very informed poll as I am sure most of us have not played in all states. I voted for Texas both for quality and quantity. (not my home state)

I cracked up that CT was on the list - they have a whopping five 18 hole courses. How many states have less than that? I should have given my sympathy vote to them since I grew up there.

i think everyone here fails to realize that California has 200 + courses and the laid back attitude of the players is unlike any other. every type of course you could imagine is within an hour of the bay area and if your not gonna play in the worlds or some other invitation only tournament then NC has nothing on cali. new york, NC, MD, OR, PA, they all get snow and stop play for a few months. not in cali. we had a whopping 4 days under 32 degrees. IMO theirs is no way that a state that has winter with snow can be the best ever. medical MJ legal too.

It would not be unreasonable to quote Jim Morrison here.

"The west is the best."

I feel fully confident in my vote for California considering I've never played in any of the other states listed. =)
