So, how did you play today?

Played a new course yesterday for the first time in months. I didn't really care about my score, and just enjoyed being out there seeing new holes, and lines. It was a fun course, and I look forward to going back.

So you're officially up to 2 courses played?

Played my home course which, I only play about 2-3 times a month, and had a decent -3 round.

I had 35 min left to kill before I had to leave for a family committment and started on the back 9. Got 7 birdies on the next 8 holes before I ran out of time.

The back is easier than the front but I'm pretty sure that if I had the time to finish, I would have beaten my record -7 round at this park but... you just never know.

I played Circle C here in Austin yesterday. I hadn't played it in a long time... a couple years maybe? Anyway, I forgot how hard the front nine is. It was humbling. Between that and having played Ridge Bible Church a couple weeks back, I think I need to go play an easy par three course like Zilker soon just to feel better about myself. :(

Saturday I played in 30-40mph winds in a dubs round with a rookie partner - came in 2nd place. Seriously, after the round a buddy and I tried to play a few holes and the gusst were up 70mph at times. They clocked the wind over Slide Mtn. (Eastern Sierras) at 116mph on Saturday.
Sunday was still pretty windy 25-35 steady and we played a bag tag round in Reno. Yeah.....+15 against a Pro Master, tied and didn't move up.

+3 and -3 at Hiller in Biloxi, in fog so thick we couldn't see the basket on the four longest holes[350'-450'].

Meh. Haven't thrown in a couple of weeks due to crappy weather and work schedule so today's round was not stellar. Only one birdie and way too many bogies. But the weather was great and I had fun anyway.

Finally got to play for the first time in almost a month last Sunday.

Played great. Got an ACE! First one and was witnessed by a random jogger.

My wife wanted to fight just after dark last night so I went to my local course (El Dorado) to avoid her. Three guys about 5 holes ahead of me had lit up all 18 baskets. They pulled 18 when they were done then started back at 1 to pull the rest of the lights so that I would get to use as many as possible. They met me on the loop as I was putting on 17 and I thanked them profusely.

-3 again but there were a couple of putts I'm sure I would have missed without their lights.

Good round. Hope u and your wife are better, too.

Scored a 3 over, 68 at Harry Myers. I started out shaky and had only a so-so front 9. Then we turned the corner and I netted two birdies and only one bogie for what could be my best score on the back 9. If not for my slow start I may have beaten my best total score here. Oh well, next time!

eeeeeeeeeeeeh.

played a couple rounds in this gorgeous weather. my first round was kind of funny. one of those "potential hot rounds" again where the driving is just perfect and you are giving yourself every opportunity for birdie . . . but you can't convert. i had ZERO birdies through 18 and one bogey for a grand total of +1. i have to say it is definitely the most even keeled i've played, despite not up to what i'd expect from the drives.

my second round was more volatile, which is what i expect from myself as of late. better putts, a couple shanked drives. wound up -1. but . . .

I LOST THREE OF MY DISCS. all of them in the second round. *sigh* including one i just got back . . . . i can't wait until this winter is over. thankfully everyone at the local league is cool, and i've noticed i've gotten more contacts about discs since starting the TC: lost discs group with my buddy travis. so here's hoping. i swear, PD and PD2 just do not want to stay in my bag. hole 10 and holes 13-14, man. disc eaters, straight. up.

Which course?

Which course?

kaposia. hole 10 is just a wide open field for a fairway by the road and there are soooo many footprints from people aimlessly wandering. good luck finding something if it lands in one.

hole 13 is the dogleg and a drive that slices in far up the fairway is apt to be lost because as it passes the final oak trees out to the birches for the approach you can't see it anymore. i threw one, liked the drive and threw another. lost them both.

hole 14 is just a shallow hyzer; i make the mistake of lining up on the tee incorrectly for a hyzerflip (angled facing too far to the left) and shank one into the left side occasionally. it's a mental mistake i don't make anymore, but i've lost a couple discs to this hole.

i was playing by myself: no spotter, no ribbons. ribbons might get put onto certain discs in the near future. i think i have learned my lesson...maybe.

LOL. I figured it was Kaposia.

That was basically my "after work" home course when I worked at RiverCentre for 2.5 years.

Definitely need ribbon or a spotter with the snow. ESPECIALLY this winter.

I didn't really realize how spoiled I was to be able to play that course 3 nights a week until now.

For the first time today, I played a course today that requires more thought, some line shaping, and has many opportunities for you to find bad lies. What bad luck I had on that course. I think I threw like +16...or some garbage like that. At least I got one birdie out of it all, on a sweet 40 foot putt.

It was a VERY frustrating round.

Playing at la Mirada I called out the flight path of my ace run on hole 17 lakeside and then it was exactly as described, only it was an inch too low and smashed the basket, doing. Lol. So awesome that I know my stag that we'll.

Then on hole 18 my buddy describes his ace run flight path and then let's it sail. He smashes the basket in the exact same area I did on the previous hole, an inch low. It was so cool, for being so unlucky.

I also brought about 30 drivers and practiced my form before the rounds.

Little tweaks can make a big difference...

I played a three disc round at lunch today (teebird, buzzz, and wizard if anyone's interested) and tried a driving grip tweak to try and get some more distance. I tried the three fingered power grip (removed the pinky from the disc) and had some unexpected, yet positive results. It seems that when I remove my pinky, it somehow makes my wrist act more like a hinge, giving me much more snap. It also affects the nose angle because my drives were all low and straight today. No grip lock issues either. Oh yeah, and I experienced a decent increase in distance. I think maybe before my pinky must have been catching on the disc during the hit and causing several problems. I'm thinking first it caused the disc to slow down during the hit due to the friction, and also may have been causing nose angle issues. Does this make sense to anyone?

Finally went under on my home course today! 3 birdies, 10 pars, and only one bogey! MAN it feels so good to finally get that monkey off my back! I really didn't play great i just didn't mess up like I usually do, 3s on holes I normally 4 and 5 on. Now if only I can do that tomorrow on league day!

I find the same result. When I am driving left handed it feels more comfortable and an easier release. Right handed it gives me more control on my aim.
