Dunncroft - Castle Point Park

Got to play 9 hurried holes at Dunncroft - Castle Point Park in Richmond, VA yesterday. It's a very cool little course.

I played very well, -2, considering I had never been around the course before and was kind of guessing on some lines and distances. But teeing off with putters and mids generally means that I should have a good chance at scoring well as long as my putting doesn't stink... and it didn't. :)

Played O'Hauser and Winnebago Green today and shot meh.

It was COLD when we started (1 degree above), but got up to 10 degrees by the time we finished, LOL.

Torque monkey drives continue to be a problem, but mid game and putts are definitely getting better.

Was with HC...I putted well, and drives with the Wizard were on point. Everything else was very meh.

Shot a -9 at Riverside in Sumner, WA.

Typically shoot around a -5 so felt pretty good. Got off the tees well and the Judges seemed to want to grab everything today.

Winter Warmer at White Cedar yesterday--

Not so hot. I couldn't really get off of the box into any good birdie looks.
The scorekeeper on my card was marking down scores before we had even holed out and said the scores too which kind of got into my head. Missed a 15' putt off of a pine branch :wall: on Hole 4 and couldn't recover after that.

Part way through the round I started to get confident with putts and hit a couple good ones but couldn't keep it up.

I am so over winter. I haven't been able to do fieldwork in months and it is killing me. My distance is gone to crap, which I can deal with. My ability to simply hit a fairway is gone as well - and that is driving me nuts. For the first ~2 months of winter golf I was scoring better as I was getting used to the snow & learning my lines. Now.....making it through the first gap is a struggle. GAH.

The only positive is since I can't do fieldwork I only do putting practice - and that has gotten a lot better. This week I didn't miss any 20 or in. Only hit 1 longer putt, but hit metal on a lot of long putts (30-45 out) which is a big step in the right direction. Now if only i could get a few of those to stick.

Saturday: shot a 97 at Coldbrook in negative windchill and whiteout conditions. I was expecting cold, but not to that degree. It really killed my mental game. I rallied 2nd round - even colder and windier - for an 85. I cashed 7th in MA3 after being on bottom card. It would've been nice to have a good mental game both rounds, and not just round 2. I quit giving ****s about 1/2way into the first round and did not have a good time or score. Second round I fought for my bogies the whole time, and cashed some stupid putts into those winds thanks to the Essential Discs' Honey holding true from 15-20' into 40mph gusts. I also had fun, in spite of the weather.

Sunday: I cancelled league for Sunday. 2° before wind chill is below my cold threshold.

How has nobody posted here in three days?

I played pretty well today, throwing some of my farthest rollers ever, including two over 400 feet. I'm finally starting to get the angle down, and they were clean on 4/5 rolls. Even the one bad one wasn't that bad. We skipped two easy holes because of "the herd," and I got a +6, which is about average. I had a really freaky bounce out that hit the center chains low, and somehow popped back out onto the ground. I don't think I could make that happen again if I tried, and I'm still not sure how the disc did that.

My round started to come unraveled at the end, but by that time, my brother and BIL were cracking up, making fun of our poor play. Night fell upon us, and by hole 18 we could barely see the basket.

How has nobody posted here in three days?

I've played every day this week before work, but it's nothing to write home about. I got a new bag so I've been changing up my pace (upper park focus). Been testing out a few new discs too. I'm just glad to be playing par golf at Pier Park winter layout :) Now I just need to get to the park sooner to avoid all the super groups blasting horrible metal music!

Played a early and windy round this morning with a couple buddies. Score was not great, but I made several 25+ft putts for par saves. The birdie train never left the station...

Played a 9-hole at Elk Grove. Very wide open and had a 4 on the first hole, 3's the rest of the way. Only one look at a birdie. My form was off a bit, which meant my distance was cut. Not a great round, but a good day because I played.

Played the nine hole course in Due West; took two or three tee shots on several holes because that's how I like to play, but playing from the first shot, I wound up at +2 for nine. Should have had one birdie though, just caged the putt. I started out putting pretty well but had a couple bad holes. I also smashed my right hand on a pine tree, but don't have any pain so I don't believe I broke anything. Overall it was a good round, and after how cold it's been all week, it was really nice to get outside and breath some fresh air while playing this awesome sport.

Horrible round. 13 over. I grip locked a drive that went 250 feet, 90 degrees right, on the easiest hole. And got a 5. That's kind of how the day went. We had a few laughs though, and I got to see a drive that would have gone over 500' if not for hitting a tree. I was super impressed. Fun round, but not in the scorecard.

After my first tournament last weekend, and a few redemption rounds at my home course I realized my arm was a little tired, so no rounds the last few days. Instead I busted out my putters and started the 100 putts for 100 days routine. I setup at about 23-25 ft and dumped 77 out of 100 into the bucket. Hoping to get that up to 90+ over the next two to three months from 25 ft.

First round yesterday in months.. Felt good to get out and play.. Shoulder still f'd up so no fh or oh shots had to play all bh... Beat my Buddy by 7 strokes he had a bad day. I finished even par so can't complain with first round of year gonna try and get another round in today

My son and I went to the park yesterday and I got 15 holes in before playground time. 9 on oakland top, and 6 on the back. Did ok, I'm definitely inconsistent but comets and pds are still money. I was -2 on the top 9 and -1 after the 6 on the back. I'm obviously not going to be lighting it up anymore because I hardly play but I still have fun when I get out which is most important!
