Has Will Schusterick peaked?

I'm sure this was discussed in the 300 earlier posts, but maybe Will isn't willing to devote his life to disc golf. Paul has apparently made disc golf his life's work, but how many young disc golf stars do the same? Will is naturally talented and has a good amount of experience, so he remains good enough to play and place in some tournaments. But I wouldn't be surprised if he has some plans for himself that don't involve disc golf.

I wish the guy the best in disc golf, family, school, career, overall happiness and fulfillment, etc.

I tend to think he's a cross road with his life. I'm guessing he would like to devote his life to disc golf, but with the reality of a wife and perhaps kids in the near future, I'm sure there is some big decisions he has to make. I think he has the skill set to be in the top 10 of disc golf, assuming he has enough time to practice and fine tune his skills.

Perhaps he can devote his life to disc golf, but not solely to playing disc golf as a means of support. There is enough year-round DG going on in the Southeast US that he could probably limit tournaments to a few majors and still play (and likely cash pretty high) at smaller events within 3+ hours of Nashville. That leaves the regular 9-5 for Prodigy and promotion, almost like a regular job

If you thought getting married was a big distraction, just wait until they have a kid.

For most, yes. 9 times out of 10 thats the case. Not for Will. He's been distracted settling these "family making" milestones. Once its all in place he will be hungry to compete again. Raising a child will give him a whole new level of patients. It will also take the stress out of competing and golf will be fun again. A new sponsor will give him a renewed confidence in himself and his plastic and he will be back on top. 2019 is his year.

wow...just realized Will is only 25 years old. I've met him in person a couple of times and I thought he was a bit older. He has plenty of time left to get his game back on top. Perhaps he hasn't peaked after all?

From Facebook:
As I sit on a plane about to take off towards Sula, Norway I felt it's time to actually announce something. A lot of people know that my disc golf game has gone down a few notches within the last 2yrs. There have been comments, messages, questions, podcasts, all about a new "movement" or "hitch" I have in my game. This "hitch" is NOT intended and never has been. I've had this so called "hitch" for almost 2yrs now, and when it first was going on I figured that if I practice harder that it would eventually fix itself. If you have ever hung out with me, you realize I could be "a bit" stubborn when it comes to certain things and there wasn't a piece of me that would ever admit something was wrong. I finally went in to have it looked at by a professional in Nashville to find out what's up and I found out that I have "shoulder impingement". I've been avoiding telling anyone because I really didn't want to make a big deal out of what's going on and start to create even more pressure on myself. I've concluded that it's time to come clean and admit what's wrong for one main reason. We all know there are internet trolls. I could care less what someone says about my cystic acne on my neck, I could care less what someone says about the way I dress, or what people think of my mental game, or their opinion on the discs that I throw, but I just can't listen to people blame my marriage for the way I'm playing anymore. Trish has been by my side when I won the USDGC, and by my side when I've gotten in the worst moods EVER after missing 12 putts inside the circle to end up not cashing. Trish is one of the main reasons why I haven't gone CRAZY after missing so many shots I used to easily hit. It's been almost 2yrs since I've felt extremely confident and it's time to finally turn that around. I've been seeing a professional in Nashville to hopefully get back to where I was a few years ago after I go through some physical therapy. Once again, if you know me well, you know that I won't quit working hard until I'm back on top. I want to thank all of my fans, friends, family, and especially my wife for ALWAYS being by my side. It's time for me to conquer a new goal inside my disc golf game, which is getting back on top.

Just gained a lot of respect for Will! I'll admit I've even trolled about the hitch. I appologize to Will.

As much as I dislike the way Prodigy started their company, I'll be rooting for Will to recover and win.

I don't know if you will read this, Will. But I hope you can work through the physical, and mental aspect of your game to get back into the top 3 in the world. Because you know what having your shoulder fixed isn't going to magically put the disc in the basket. I wanna see you on every lead card, kicking butt out there. Good luck, and be well.

Soooo, why now Will?? Why did you let this trolling go on for so long?? Why did you not defend your wife and marriage sooner if you were so disgusted?? This trolling is nothing new, and has been going on for quite some time now.

If an end is what you seek, then let's end this talk and this thread once and for all...

Will has peaked. End of story.

Will's post to me is just a reminder that there are real people on the receiving end of the casual nasty comments people make online. What is said in passing and forgotten by the person who posts it may be keeping the target up at night. I hope Will is able to regain his confidence and work through whatever physical issues he may be having.

I'll take Will's peak. The local youngsters are always gunning for me. We usually throw the same distance. Of course I have to take them GNC pills to get it going. I tend to beat them because I don't worry about my score during the round, and don't fret about a bad hole anymore. Took years to learn that. I just tell them I hope they can still throw far and compete when they are middle aged.

He finally gave in and admitted there weren't four lights...:D

He certainly provided some comic relief at times. His public profile is all private, so I'm guessing he is still lurking and just doesnt want people to it for some reason.

His pdga page is expired though, so maybe he got burnt out?..

I pm'd him a while back and never got an answer. It's just concerning when members just vanish. Like grodney, too. I always worry in the back of my mind.
