Prediction: Paul McBeth Stays With Innova

I'm saying he's changing sponsors, but keeping his same discs, last year's April fool's wasn't actually a joke, the company is now fully changing to McBeth discs.

Innova: We are parting ways with Paul McBeth, we wish him the best.
Paul McB: I am so grateful for my time with Innova, but I'm moving on.
DiscFifty: Naaaaaaahhhh man.

For real though, what a time to be alive. We'll all be telling our grandchildren who are obviously all pro's about the time Paul McBeth left Innova and lit the world on fire.

Should I actually put time into this sport and try for sponsorship?

Consider this... if he leaves the "innova player team" and becomes part owner of Innova, do I still win?

Or if he takes a position with Discmania USA do I get a partial win since Innova makes their discs?

Only if you can get innova to sponsor you in the next year or two, then make some deal with the Dire Devil to sell your soul for a magic arm that throws every disc into the basket before anyone else.

You've gotta do it. For the grandkids.

Or in your case, regular kids.

All of these conspiracy theories are hilarious to me. I'm no marketing expert, but I can't imagine intentionally decieving your customers for short term profit would be a sound stategy.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'd turn down any Trilogy sponsorship though, and I'd have to strongly consider any non Innova, DC, DM, Legacy or Millennium offers due to lack of beaded mids. I find Trilogy's plastics to season too quickly for my liking.

Are they (Innova) having a sale or pushing any McDiscs?

I don't think so, but that's been a part of the theories I've seen posted elsewhere.

Step one: announce McBeast is leaving
Step two: sell a bunch of discs to folks thinking McBeth stamped discs will become collectors items
Step three: McBeast doesn't actually leave
Step four: ???
Step five: profit

step 5 should be step 3

I don't think selling plastic was their motivation...if...he....stays put. But I do think it is very possible he has left Innova Team and will return an actual partner of the Innova company. It makes sense at this point in his career to build a long term investment revenue stream.

If they make an announcement like this, then let it lie for a few weeks / months, only to unveil that nothing is actually changing from a product line perspective because Paul is staying with Innova is some new capacity... That'd be pretty underhanded, in my opinion. It would come off as such a blatant money-grab to generate collector sales for Paul's merch, under the guise that it were going OOP, only for it not to be.

For everyone involved, I hope these conspiracy theories don't prove true, as I think it would tarnish the reputations of both in many people's eyes.
