Here's the funny thing though. It's the one star that got so many thumbs down. And also the information got lost in the complaint. Here is what I mean. The review states:
Cons: Unfortunately, the course is not at all designed for the average player. I play weekly and have slowly gotten better over the years, but this course has nothing to offer me. It's too long, too narrow and has too many crazy out of bounds. It was frustrating and not enjoyable at all. Lincoln Ridge Park is much better for all the reasons mentioned above.
Other Thoughts: I like a challenge and don't mind playing difficult courses. Be warned that if you are
not a pro, get ready for a beat-down.
If, instead, the reviewer would simply have presented the same information, as facts, instead of complaints, the review would have been as such:
Course designed for the advanced or pro level player.
Long holes, some quite narrow fairways which penalize errant shots.
Good amount of O/B, possibly too much depending on your tastes.
Scoring will be quite hard for the typical player, of which I am one.
This conveys about the same info, just without the obvious sour tone. I imagine about 80% of the down votes were just because of the one star rating, 20% because no useful info was actually provided (though some is, it is just lost in the sour tone).
I think he shot himself in the foot though with his last comment--"I don't mind playing challenging courses". Ahhh, apparently you do!
I am an average player at best as well, and I know I will get 'beat down' every time I play there, but I keep going back and rank it as my 2nd favorite course to date.
