The first disc I ever aced with was a Star Spider. 200 feet, dead straight right into the chains. And that wasn't the only ace that disc got. I should dig it out of the bin and throw it again.

My experience is that lighter weight Rocs do tend to flip up a little bit like a beat in Roc would do, but they also tend to fade more than a beat in Roc does. For that super straight finish, it's hard to top a beat in Roc. Fortunately, used Rocs are fairly plentiful if you need a replacement...

I second this, and will add that it's been happening since forever. I had some old S/DS marked F2's back in the day with Blizzard rims (before Blizzard even existed). And those were super beefy, so it doesn't necessarily mean they will be flippy either.

Man I haven't thrown a Scorp in so long but this thread is making me want to throw them again (and buy some more runs to try). My stack of first runs in the garage is calling my name, but it's so rainy outside right now. PNW fall is definitely in full swing lol.

There are a lot of good runs of Roc out there. I agree on the grip. I have dry hands as well (until it gets to be this time of year and the rain won't stop and then my hands are constantly wet lol).

If anything can put the FX-2 and FX-3 on the map, it's Isaac Robinson. The way that guy was carving up lines with those in the woods this season was unreal. His putter and mid shots were things of beauty as well. Maybe one of the best woods players on tour right now.

I got a Philo DX color glow tour series Roc. Nice, mild dome (not pop top) and the plastic feels like a really nice blend, stiff and a little tacky like it has a little Pro in it. I dig it.

Unless they've changed since I last tried them, you probably won't be disappointed. My experience with GStar Teebirds was exactly that. Maybe just slightly more stable than a TL out of the box but breaks into that sort of flight very quickly.
