    First 3 Discs

Hey... welcome to the game. I am new too (just started in January, and yes... I am completely hooked. Big fun.). My girlfriend and I both have a Buzzz in ESP and ESP FLX plastic. Great disc. The Teebird is a great first choice.... but the post earlier is right, it is going to shank hard to...

4.00 star(s) Best to play in the morning if you are a beginner. + lots of variety of shots + lots of variety in distance + great use of the terrain (water, hills on front nine, trees) + great tee boxes (concrete, good size, mostly well marked... some of the signs need to be replaced.) + nicely marked pin...

Beginner - my first arsenal :)

Yes... solid first set. I agree very much with the previous post about trying to un-learn bad habits. That is my whole game right now. I came out with drivers and wanted to throw a 300' long shot. It drove me nuts and built in a ton of frustration. Definitely concentrate on form, but I also...

Help a noob with some discs

My girlfriend is new to the game too.... and she loves her Soft Magnet for a distance putter... she switches to a Blow Fly II when she is in close.... she just got a BUZZ... and she LOVES IT.... The XL is a bit more unpredictable... at least for us..... She loves the Avenger SS and the Banshee

Help a noob with some discs

I am pretty new too.... just started really playing in January. I did the same thing... bought a lot of discs, read these forums like a religion, and watched all the Youtube I could stand. A lot of the advice helped, and some of it hurt.... I have a tendency to over think... and nobody can...

    Throwing under 350'?

THIS IS SO TRUE.... I think I just ended my "spend my way to improving" period.... My girlfriend got me some discs for Christmas, started playing about January 2.... spent like crazy for about four weeks.... then yesterday played nine holes with just my DX CRO..... and had the best score...

My take on the side arm throw.

I am a totally new player, and am nowhere close to the be able to give advise department yet, but just from reading a lot on here and watching every video I can find, it totally seems that the Back hand is where the power and distance are.... so I keep working on the RHBH off the tee.... ( I am...

    Discing down adventures.

I gather from the length some of you all have been members and the fact that you seem to throw consistently longer than 300', that this is even a good practice to get back to technique for those who have been at the game for longer. On my end, I am new, and like a lot of new people (at least...

Review by rcmalamutes in course Emerald Park

3.50 star(s) Close to Home Fun We love this little course. It is close to home, not crowded, spaced out nicely to avoid a tangle of projectile missiles of destruction. It is cool. Lots of test for your driver (again, nothing to really let it rip for you upwards of 400 guys, but I can't throw it that far...

    Adding distance to you drives

Yes... you nailed it.... the discs usually fly out VERY high and streak UP... then stall and fall with a very sharp hyzer. I am working on trying to think of the throw with less footwork for now and more like throwing a hammer.... very cool video about that on YouTube.... so far the consistency...

    Backhand thrower needs advice

That hammer throw pivot is very cool.... I will start working on that right away.... great stuff. Thanks all.

    Backhand thrower needs advice

This is very cool... and helpful... my only issue that I had with it, is that I didn't think you were supposed to wrist curl so much around the disk... isn't the bottom line to keep it kinda locked out and then just extend that wrist a bit at the end of the snap (whip)? The other video, I had...

    Backhand thrower needs advice

Very excellent thread.... Whisker Biscuit's post was very helpful... it is true, all the discs throw the same right now.... I have only been playing for a couple of months, and trying to learn how to really drive is very frustrating. So far.... I like the Valkyrie the best with a Monarch coming...

    Adding distance to you drives

my favorite disc to throw so far is a Valkyrie. I have a Champ and a DX... I like them both. They are the ones that consistently go over 160... I think my grip is ok... it is the four fingers underneath tight (not fanned out).... I might be holding it too tight.... so far I have a tendency to...

    Adding distance to you drives

Okay all.... I am a newbie, so bare with me. But I am getting hugely frustrated with quotes such as "The average person can get to the 250 to 350 foot range with whatever technique that they try..." I am not a weakling, or a total inept.... and even though I have only been really trying...
