Why is it important to someone who's not playing? I doubt that informing random people on the internet of their finances is the highest priority for the people actively putting on a tournament (that apparently still has a good enough payout to attract all the top players).
usdgc took a break that year.
i will agree coverage is much improved from previous attempts and events.
mcflysohigh is DELIVERING on the tourny. footage. props to that guy, im not even bothering with disc golf planet.
doss is playing some solid golf, hes my pick to win right now. im sure pmb will sneak up and destroy everyone in the final round as always though.
Nah, he's 16 shots off the lead, that means everyone in front of him would have to choke while he plays his sunday best. I don't see it happening for him tbh
He was talking about Marty McGee's video coverage. Dude's been shooting rounds and editing/uploading by the following morning to YouTube, in HD. He's making DGPTV look like a joke, especially since he doesn't have Sweater Vest and Fake Tan doing the commentary.
Marty McGees video quality is really what puts disc golf planet tv to shame. I really like what Disc Golf Planet is TRYING to accomplish, but with the proliferation of YouTube, especially users as skilled and quick as The Disc Golf Guy, Mc Fly So High and Central Coast Disc Golf, they are almost fighting a losing battle.
did you guys see it live. i'm watching it and it is like the matrix...Deja Vu!!!
keeps looping and i miss all the action. quality is better but overall still unwatchable for the masses.
Yea when I watched the play backs later at night they are a loopy mess but when you watch it live it is pretty stellar.
Why is there a "battle" at all? DGP is doing it live. The others are recorded and edited. It's not really a direct comparison or a competition. It's not as though it has to be either/or. They all co-exist.
The DG Guy, McFly, etc are doing very good things. So is DGP. It's ALL good for the sport.
It's not bad for the sport, I will go that far.
But DGP.tv is asking people to pay for a subpar product. I don't think the fanbase is deep enough YET to justify that when there are other free options out there...including their archived playbacks. I tend to watch those, being in a different part of the world and all.
Innovation thrives when there is competition. We've already seen how far DGP.tv has come since the Memorial. They still have a ways to go, but hopefully they keep right on improving.
