Sugaree-Phase 2

On October 8/9, the Jubilee returns for the first time since 2010. On Saturday you will get to enjoy the fun,good-natured side of Sugaree with a 26 hole singles tourney with tee time followed by a 9 hole one disc event.
On Sunday you will get a chance to play Sugaree in her foulest mood, the rarely seen supercourse layout in either a doubles or triples format. 18 holes with many holes combined for the ultimate woods golf challenge.
On site camping encouraged.

UGH! This conflicts with USDGC. Otherwise I'd be all over this. I'll try to round up some other Charlotte folks and schedule a trip up to the must play destination.

I've got a condo on Sugar so as you can imagine I was stoked to see that this course exists! I can't wait for you guys to (presumably) open up next spring. I was up there last weekend and disappointed I couldn't play. I went out to Blind Squirrel instead and had a good time none the less.

Mando, you know I love Sugaree, it skyrocketed to the top of my list the first time I played it, in September '16. I am looking forward to coming back up there, middle of May, to celebrate my 50th birthday! Hope to introduce a good number of first time visitors to your beautiful property, and course. Winter can't get over soon enough!

I just want to give everyone a heads up that the course will probably be closed from mid-July to mid-August.
Heading way out west ! In other news, Hunter Todd set the new course record with a -9 last fall, just after Mike Sale's -6 round.

Mando decided to deface his own page because I wouldn't remove reviews he disagreed with. He also updated his review to give his own course a zero. I filled in some of the information he removed (city, etc.) from an old backup just for archival purposes (I didn't feel like downloading the one from a couple nights ago) although I didn't bother retrieving the hole information as it's with the complete backup that I'd have to grab (kind of a pain in the butt to do).

After all that, I thought it was best to retire the course since that seems to be what he was going for.
Dude, read the resetting reviews poll...I am not the enemy.

Hoping to play here June 3rd. Very excited!

And I'll be back in a few more days, hopefully bringing 3 first-time visitors to Sugaree. I guess I have introduced around 8 or so people to the course, since last Summer, and it has been an absolute hit with every single one of them!

Thanks, Mark. We really appreciate your support for the course ! Enjoyed meeting all your friends from Charlotte. The record rainfall in May has us scrambling to keep up with the weeds and questioning the sustainability of the course moving forward, so I'm glad you are getting multiple plays in this year.

Closing in July and then need to re-evaluate to see if we are up for another maintenance round for the fall.

I just uploaded my hole-by-hole ratings in the Files section of the course page. My numbers had Sugaree coming out as a Blue level course. The estimated elevation changes will give people an idea of the ups and downs. It was such a pleasure to replay each hole of this majestic course in my imagination (with the help of pictures on DGCR of course!) Nothing can describe seeing those rock formations in person, though!

Such a beautiful course. Hoping to make it back there sometime within the next year.

Thanks guys. Lowe, when you come over this morning, you will see that #1 basket is several feet lower than last year's position.
Also, gonna probably delete hole #8 and use alt pad on left to play all the way to #9 as a par 4;since I lost a par 4 by splitting hole 1. That will put us at 24 holes. Tinkering around with 6 new holes. Would like to show them to you if you have time.

The course is growing stronger and I'm growing weaker. I can see I better get up there soon, before it's more than I can play.

I'm reminded of how many times visitors have asked me when we built Stoney Hill. I can only answer that we don't know; we're still building it.

Why is Sugaree listed as extinct again?

Mando decided he doesn't want the course on the site anymore.

Thank you, Tim, for keeping us posted on this matter and remaining professional.

Despite living within a few hours of this course, I have no desire to visit. I appreciate those who have spoken out and shared their experience ...

Oh, so you have never played the course, but have an opinion...interesting. I also have an opinion, I'm glad you never set foot on the course.
