I am THEY

I've been They for the last week prepping and pouring new "gold" t-pads on a local course. Got some extra help yesterday and got 6 done instead of just the 3 we were hoping for. They're almost all 5x12's so that was about 10,500 lbs. of Quikcrete, whew! If we can continue to get 4 of 5 guys out we should be able to get the last 12 finished within the next 2 weeks, weather permitting. We've been lucky so far in that regard. Some pics:

Those look nice and beefy! Solid work. Hope the locals appreciate your efforts.

They absolutely do. We got alot more volunteers than usual for this project, which shows the appreciation. It's open for play now and there are just a few details to clean up (more chip put in places and signs to install in the next few weeks.) Lots of excitement around here for this course.

Greg Kurtz is most definitely They....... he was out in the cold and snow to shovel tees at J-Park today.

I probably have done one or more of these at some point,my local course doesnt like to mow that often

Poured 9 of these beauties today at Battlepoint Park DGC, Bainbridge Island, WA. It's a park course so we were able to get the cement truck right up to each tee. Anyone who's mixed bag after bag of concrete for tees in wheelbarrows can appreciate what I'm talking about. Bottom right photo is the old natural tees.

Nice looking teepads. I bet they eat the shoes of toe draggers like me though.

What did you use to get that diamond pattern? Extruded plate steel?

I wish I could tell you exactly what it is but I'm not sure. One of our club members got it somewhere, and it's a 2' x 4' piece that looks like some type of steel grate. It's also a little bit flexable.

As for tearing up shoes quickly, I suppose if you're a toe dragger yes, but they probably aren't as rough as they look in the photo, other than in a few places where the sheet got pressed in a bit too deep. If you press it in too deep, and the concrete is still a bit too soft, when you pull it up it will drag some concrete with it and be a bit rough, but those spots usually break down fairly quickly (at the expense of your shoes until then). But these are pretty great to throw off of even in our wet weather. We've done quite a few like this.

Rolesville HS-Wooden Pond

Now at over 10 hours of brush cutting, tree pruning and general cleanup on the new Wooden Pond layout at Rolesville HS in NC. Doing it all with hand tools (gas trimmer) and sweat equity.

Coming soon, tee markers and tee signs.
