DGPT: 2020 Discraft Great Lakes Open July 24-26

How much $$ does the winner of the MPO and FPO receive? If my math is correct, the purse is $54,900 ($36,000 MPO + $6400 FPO + $12,500 added cash). I have not kept up the last few years if there is a standard % or if each tournament pays out differently.

Here's the PDGA payout tables. They pay out at least the top 40%, not sure which scale they use for the big events.

Tournaments have the freedom to make adjustments, but if they're using the standard table it'll be around $4000 for MPO and $2000 for FPO winner

Following, what I would consider, gold standard TD 101....this should be published somewhere for players to see before the tournament begins.

Agreed.
And in TM it's pretty easy. TDs just don't click the button for whatever reason.

Thanks ToddL. I am not sure we make use of this. I will pass along the info to our TD. Seems like great info for many others here as well, if they are not making use of it already.

But again, if Discraft is not happy about the promotion made by one of their Elite team members, there are other ways to show it, than by ignoring them for a potential feature card.

I haven't heard about this, care to elaborate what happened?

Jomez won't be doing the live card first rd. They are doing the Simon/Nikko/KJo/Uli card... and Gatekeeper is doing Eagle, Barsby, Frescura and Hammes

That tournament manager is so helpful. I recently ran an event and was able to post the round 1 starting hole assignments so people could report directly to their holes in the morning and skip the players meeting. I also had the payouts all calculated and in envelopes before the event started because it does the math for you and we sold out in advance.

Don't know if anyone's posted this somewhere else yet but, interesting to hear Simon & Eagle's take on Toboggan. Around the 4 min mark, he mentions how important placement is.

...after 16 years of DG, and playing some of the top ranked courses in several states, this course still wows me. Guess it wowed Simon, too.

For the feature cards, the DGPT is selecting players along with the event title sponsor.

For DGLO, Discraft is the title sponsor, so they probably get 1-2 picks. So I assumed that the selection went like this.

1) Defending champion: Mcbeth
2) and 3) DGPT picks: Heimburg and Wysocki
4) Discraft pick: Smith

It's pure speculation, so maybe Discraft could only pick one and picked Mcbeth and DGPT picked the other three. I just don't see Discraft picking Innova players.

That being said, I was surprised to see Discraft not pick any player from their Elite team, and select Brodie instead (who is not part of the Elite Team iirc). That's what I mean by "ignoring"... which might be exagerated.

I don't have any inside news from Discraft, so maybe I'm completely off and this choice was made in agreement with the team, who knows ?

Ah, I see. I wasn't quite sure what you meant. Thanks for explaining.

Brody with a really good roller on no9. His game is really starting to round out. Now he just needs to keep playing and learning what shots to throw when.

Paul is definitely a bit off. Drives have been a bit squirrely and he just missed a 15-20ft putt after an excellent roller.
