Knob Hill is really good but gets over looked since Moraine and now North Boundary are so close by. Deer Lakes is favorite in that region.

Sat 7/31: Wedding, probably no disc golf
Sun 8/1 and Mon 8/2: Highbridge Hills

I'll check the schedule this evening and let you know. If I remembered wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

Agree with the masses. Very typical park course. Johnson Park is superior.

Silver doesn't get the love it deserves. Rating is lower because it was originallly a 9 holer. Grey and Silver are super fun. If you get there early, play Red/Grey first, then head over to Silver.

Bummer about the pooch, because both Big Eau Plaine and Standing Rocks are far superior to Yulga. Yulga is the most strangely flat course I've ever played.

Days 7-8: Wedding and family activities around Chippewa Falls. Groom is a disc golfer but may be otherwise occupied.

Plan on a decent amount of time here. They're not brutal courses, but they're mostly heavily wooded.

I'll be around those days you're in Chippewa! Unfortunately, there's no course in Chippewa anymore, but Eau Claire has a bunch (as you know). There is a semi-decent longer school course in Cadott that's actually one of my favorite 9ers, and that's probably the closet course to your wedding venue.

I haven't played Buckrub, but Ive played all the other EC course I think. Played a million rounds at Mt. Simon. Was out and played Tower 2 last weekend. Probably will be back there this weekend. Tower gives you the options to play the two course separate or to play a 27 hole loop that plays with both courses. Might be the way to go if your on shorter time (or energy). Tower 2 is definitely flatter and less of a trek than Tower 1.

Depending upon your route, either Portage Lakes or Friends of Punderson are the best options.

If Portage Lakes and near a meal time, Parassons (Barberton or Akron locations, depending upon your route preferences) for cheap Italian.

And, Boundary in Cranberry will wipe you out - the ~2 hour break from there to Akron will be much needed!

A weekday would be a really nice time to get out there, you'd have the whole place mostly to yourself, Burchfield is in a pretty small rural town and enough of a drive from the nearest city (Lansing) that most of the locals there stay local to that area. Because it is such a great pair of courses they do get a decent amount of traffic on the weekends though from people all over the area.

The area does get a little buggy though, I've seen the skeets there get bad enough to carry you off the course. Fingers crossed it's not super rainy during that time. The Devil's Den course has two tee pad placements and two pins. The shorts/shorts plays pretty darn short, like everything under 300ft short.

Some of the long tee pins are REALLY long, so I'd say for an intermediate player to try the long pads to short pins for a good challenge, and if you're a bomber and Am1 rated, or just coming out here for the day perhaps go ahead and play longs/longs for the experience but do be mindful that the grass out here in the fields does get long, especially by August, and disc searches can become a problem.

Yes, I assume this trip will feature a few (million?) skeeters. Just have to slather on bug spray, keep 'er moving, and hope for the best

Excellent tip, thank you! I usually try to pick tees that are some multiple of my throwing distance under the course conditions. At home I usually mix and match tees but on a long course like Iron Hill (10,000' +), I found short tees to long baskets was most enjoyable for me. When my drives from the long tees kept landing near the short tee, I figured the course was sending a clear message.

But who knows - by the end of a long trip I might just be Mr. Short-to-Short.

Not at all likely I'll be able to join you.

I gotta work until about 4pm, and Burchfield's about 75 miles from me. Even if I cut out early and drive like hell, I won't get out there until 4pm at best, and that's assuming traffic cooperates.

Def one of the very best multi-course destinations in the state, as both courses have a distinctly different feel to them.

I think you'll really enjoy playing a mix of short tee to long pins, and long tee to short pins on Devil's Den. Short to short is a bit too, easy, and long to long is for the big boyz.

You could easily play two different layouts on that, plus River's Edge, and not be bored over 3 rounds.

Def recommend bug spray for rivers edge.
