Great minds think alike! I'm the OP on this thread and I still (5+ years later) think this is a great idea. I've signed up for your E-mail notifications and I'm looking forward to info on the released product.
There are a lot of good suggestions in this thread. I'm assuming that you throw in the 280-350 max distance range. For me the longest straightest disc for this distance is the "super JLS". I'm talking about the Orion LS. It's longer than a beat in DX TeeBird (my second choice) but it is a little...
Hey ChUcK, I've been a fan for about three years. I started out as a RCRG fan but these days I'm more hooked on the national champs - The Oly Rollers. Roller Derby is a kick ass sport for sure.
I think Master Cylinder would be a great derby name. There's a girl on the Sockit Wenches team named...
That's funny! When I read the title to this thread I wondered if you were including the Roc. I would vote for the Roc but I consider it a midrange. The disc I find most versatile as a driver would be the Cyclone in ESP or TP plastic.
I voted for price but the poll missed something that is just as important as price to me and that is - convenience. My favorite online store is DGC because it is the best I've found at price and convenience. If I wake up at 7 am on a Sunday morning and decide that I really do need a new DX...
In the main compartment of my Chimp I'm carrying 15 discs right now. Two of them are Putters and three are Rocs. The rest are drivers. The Chimp has a putter pocket on the side that is away from your body and another one on the side that's adjacent your body. I've got a big ass Condor on the...
Another vote for the Chimp. Great bag. Eight months ago mine was $70 shipped to my door. No complaints. If that's a little steep for you then you could always "go ghetto". Scissor out a hunk of plastic from a heavy duty trash bag or something to make a "skirt" for your rain flap any size you...
Sounds like a fun trip but you need to add a day to it to play a few more Cali courses because there are a lot of good ones!
It seems like a lot of the good ones (Lake Casitas, The Oaks, De Laveaga, Stafford Lake) are close to the coast though.
Since you're in Eugene I assume you've played...
This seems like mostly good news to me! If I'm reading you right that means that if JHBlader66 designed his disc then he could have one "proof of concept" disc made for $250. That's cheap for a one off prototype! I know little about the materials available for RP. I wonder if there's a material...
They sold boxcar loads of them at Walmarts. Same mold as the JLS but only in DX at 165. They are a great disc for someone who throws 250 and wants to throw 280.
I work at a small factory that makes tools for airplanes. We have a machine shop. I was a machinist for 10 years. Most of the tools we make are "one offs". About 30% of my time I'm the Estimator. Since we don't do molding the first thing I would suggest to you is that you find someone that has a...
