Not to go even nerdier, but you can't divide out (x-y). Since x=y, that makes (x-y)=0 and dividing by 0 doesn't fly.

RIT is the only way to go. Walmart usually has it with the bleach and laundry detergent.

I've used 3" masking tape that I stuck to my jeans a couple times to make it a little less sticky. Worked great and very cheap.
