Review by dlk33 in course Telulah Park

1.00 star(s) Down to 9 not fine There still is a course. It's better than not having a disc golf course. Perhaps a decent practice or beginner course. The challenge is gone without having any elevation or wooded holes. Everything is in the open with the only challenge being the possibility of some trees and...

Review by dlk33 in course Johnson Park

0.50 star(s) Not worth your time... It's better then nothing, sort of. I don't think you'll have to wait to throw. Just about everything. The so called homemade baskets have become a joke. They are in terrible shape! This is actually the first course I ever played on several years ago. It was a short, just...

    Disc Golf Weight Training?

In the winter months when disc golf pretty much comes to a stand still here, I use our weight stack machine, along with the treadmill, elliptical machine & exercise bike to get my work outs in. Then when the season starts again, my body is in the best shape it can be in.

can wait to go back to sandy point

If you could only go to one of these, which one would you go to & why? Sandy Point, Highbridge, or Justin Trails?

    Early retirement

Our plans.... hubby is to retire in about a year. We're working on selling our business now, then the house. We plan on moving to the Greenville, SC area ( where the cost of living & property tax is much less then here in Wi, and there's much less cold & snow). We don't have loads of money to...

    Disc golfers worst enemy?

I'm going with 1.Yourself, 2.Other disc golfers 3.Mosquitoes, 4.Bees. For some others that play on the course, it's probably the rangers who will give you a ticket with a hefty fine for not paying to play like you're supposed to:D

    disc golf carts

Already have one of those homemade ball golf carts transformed into a disc golf cart, where the plastic tote that carries my disc golf bag can be taken off to fold up the cart for easier transport. Those carts can't be used on all courses. When the course is busy I just carry my bag, it seems to...

    Watch out Highbridge Hills

Being I live in Wisconsin, I hope I get a chance to play there before we move to Greenville, South Carolina. We've played many Wi. courses, but it's a long drive there from Madison:(

Should I hand me down PAST favorite discs?

I would wait until I tried the new disc first, to make sure I didn't need or want the other two any longer. I'm not sure the Valk will give your gf longer distance, it depends on whether she can handle it or not. Why not let her just try it out on a couple of rounds first, to see if she likes...

    Discs for women!

The first ever disc I threw was a Shark, nice & stable, considered an all around disc for a beginner. What's the sense in buying several discs, that will only cause confusion. The idea is to thow something that has a chance of turning out positive once thown. If she has a negative experience...

    Who do you learn from?

Educated myself, mostly by reading information online, started with just one all around disc (a shark) payed attention to the flight charts, practiced throwing in a field, bought a practice basket for putting in my backard. Learning is an ongoing process that won't be perfected until I'm...

[Innova] Champion Beast... how to throw

I thow a 167 champion beast sidearm (it's my go to disc) since I can't thow it well backhand, it fades left a bit to much. However, it was suggested that I go lighter & try that backhand, so I got a 163 champion beast. That was worse because the 167 is more beat in then the 163. So, now I'm...

    Male or Female advice...

It's not easy being a female, is it:) Thanks for the excuse that I can now give my husband when he beats me! It's not my fault, I'm playing my best, but there are two huge things in my way everytime I thow, lol.

Good and easy to control putter

I'll second that, and add to check the flight chart to compare them.

    Yelling "clear" on blind holes?

I yell clear if I know there is someone behind me waiting to throw. I also look to see if there is anyone in front of me before I throw. There have been a few times someone was in the rough looking for a disc & I didn't see them, as well as times someone didn't see me & threw.

Injured on the way back home.

I got stung two times this summer on a dg course. One time I was looking for a disc in the rough & next thing I feel is pain in on my hand & stomach. Then a couple of weeks later I'm just sitting on a bench waiting to throw & I get stung again, this time on my thowing hand. It wasn't a good...

Post Here for longest time playing without an ace

Two years in between aces, got my second one this summer:)

    Whats par for you?

The par doesn't matter to me, having a lower score then my husband does:) We keep track of the lowest scores for pin placements (short, medium & long), then spend the season trying to break them. This year hubby has the lowest score on all of them:(, but I have one more ace then he does:)

    BEWARE Discgolfcenter.com

I've had good service with dgc as well. The only thing that bothered me last time I ordered, was that the champion disc wasn't as clear as it should have been in the center, it seemed to have some kind of milky coating. To me, it should have been sold as a factory second. You could try...
