Critters on the course you ran into...

I hear your game really stinks after that happens...

My son says "uh Dad look above my head." He also had a run in with a couple deer, but I couldn't get the camera fast enough.

Crazy Coyote

Coyote came running up to me like he wanted to be pet, so I pulled out my camera and he started running away, camera shy I guess........

Ran into this bad boy on the course yesterday. He was over by the putting area at Elon Park.

He was the size of a hot dog!

Hickory horned devil. found one last year and was freaked out for a while

Echidna on the course at Granite Mountain, now we just need a koala and a wombat.
I've yet to see a monotreme in a zoo, let alone in the wild.

SUPER COOL!!!!
^ what he said.

I've heard koala's are actually quite smelly and rather ill-tempered little buggers, and nowhere near as cute and cuddly as they're portrayed to be.

One little bear

The third tee at Red Tail is just past a barbed wire fence, so I built a foot bridge over the fence. This afternoon I stained it and then came back a few hours later to see make sure it had dried OK, only to find fresh muddy bear prints (I also had to walk across to get the picture):

I was playing NAD Park today, and I was just retrieving my putter from the basket, and my friend says "look!" and right then a Bald Eagle snatched a squirrel mid-flight off a tree about 20' from where we were standing, and flew back down the fairway we had just played, squirrel in talons.

We see a lot of Eagles circling around above the canopy, but that was the first time I had actually seen one hunting down inside the forest. Very cool!

Just remembered I had these pics from the past year.

Can't remember where we encountered the turtle.

The last pic is of a pair of Bald Eagles taken at Grand Isle in Grand Rapids. This was taken in the very early stages of the course; have not seen them since. Hope that us disc golfers are not the reason.

This bad boy. Word is that he crawled into some birdhouses and said "Hi Mrs. Bird, I'm from the Government and I'm here to help you."

Just curious, was that from a course in the Atlanta area? I've seen a rat snake about that same size at Alexander Park...

We have a weasel that I see all the time on one of our local courses who is always dragging dead chipmunks around. He's all white now and kind of hard to see, but still out there hunting.
