because I secretly laugh and feel vindicated when people pull out a driver on a 200-250' hole and blow by it or get crazy skips to outside the circle - then I step up with a putter and park it...

(not laughing at noobs, but people who can throw farther than me and just have terrible disc and shot selection logic)

Please feel free to opine, unless you disagree with me, then stfu and gtfo :p

I feel like I should clarify and say that I'm not talking strategic driver shots (i.e. skips or OH) but just plain ol' air shots where you'd pick a driver despite having the power level to get a mid or putter there...

FWIW I'm pretty sure a good person wouldn't have made a thread like this. :p

I just recently got some mids and putters that I feel comfortable driving with, I had ALWAYS had stability issues with my aviar (until recently) and figured I was better off just learning to take a little off my throws with a driver to get to these really short pins. But I agree NOW that its funny to see. I especially like stepping up to a 350 foot hole and seeing people throw their heaviest most stable driver with a tailwind. Their disc dies about 300 out while my roc floats into the circle.

Obligatory "Who cares as long as people are having fun, that's all that matters you bunch of internet nerds" post.

Nah, you're just fine, i find the same pleasure in doing the same thing. The course that I frequent has recently been inundated with rec players wielding the newest biggest and baddest high speed drivers (i.e. nukes, katanas, bosses, etc.) and I find it amusing to watch them shank a drive horribly while i gently park my Buzzz in the circle.

I played a tourney this weekend and heard a bunch of whispers behind me when I drove with a Ridge on a hole with a very narrow fairway and OB all over. I hit par, I believe everyone else at least bogey'd... (And I had the second longest drive out of the 5 of us...)

Was my first tourney ever, but I was shocked no one else has seen anyone drive with a putter before. I mean, seriously?

meh, I'm fine with all that. I guess I should have prefaced that aside from not laughing at newbies/beginners, I don't laugh at the for-fun crowd either (though I do sometimes envy how they can participate in a sport without getting super competitive, it's something I don't know how to do). I mean the people who think they've got the arm/talent/skill to throw those discs but don't.

Maybe I'm just sore cuz I'm tired of seeing people who lack solid game but have scores of Aces?

Who cares, someone flame me. I'm just instigating for some reason tonight.

 I'm glad Gary Busey has a strong showing in this poll. I knew there was a reason I got up this morning.

looks like the majority (at this time) are thinking "Gary Busey". i voted as such, and i hope you find the answers you seek

:thmbup::popcorn:

you aren't a bad person. You are exactly the opposite because you chose to play with bad golfers. Hopefully you can help them.

i know a lt of people who arent comfortable with mids out of 150' so throw drivers out of that range even though they can easily shoot that far, their aim just isnt there

There's no shame in emasculating a bunch of sperm boys who think they're all that because they spent their entire paycheck from McDonalds on a speed 13 driver that they can't throw. You're doing these guys a favor in the long run by showing them its about the archer and not the arrow. They'll either eventually mature and get some more appropriate discs, or they won't and will go be a poser at something else in life.

Funny enugh, ususaly the somewhat older and 20 years more experienced guys use to do that when I play with them.

They probably never heared of discing down.

Since you asked online:

Internet protocol demands that I reply that yes,
You are indeed a bad person.

No one is allowed to show the least bit of kindness or understanding towards another online lest that be perceived as weakness!!! Therefore, because of your actions, I must now shame you.

Shame on you! You bad, bad anonymous internet person you...

Gary Busey endorsed Donald Trump for president. How can he not win this poll? Seriously.

Do you offer constructive help when asked? That should answer your question.

well, i don't think you're a jerk. i think you probably just have a really small penis

It depends. If they've been given the advice to learn to throw the slower discs and choose not to then secretly making fun of them is fine. If they don't know any better (a vast majority of disc golfers don't, it's not like manufacturers advertise the "right" way to learn, they just push discs) then making fun of them isn't warranted.

I secretly laugh too. I have a couple guys that I play with that have a bag full of 10-13 speed drivers and a single putter. They have good distance with their drivers, but their layups are horrible and they aren't even that great with their Champion Aviars. Usually, their drives take wild turns, or they put stable (or understable) discs on anny lines and they never come back. These guys have ok skill, but I consistently beat them by 3-5 strokes driving with my putter (not for all holes obviously).
