PDGA NT: 2019 Santa Cruz Masters Cup presented by Innova 17-May to 19-May-2019

I just watched the first round (front and back 12s videos). Nate Sexton showing a bit of rust, IMHO, and he also tried some lines that didn't pan out for him.

Really? MJ has never played DeLaveaga before? I'm sure he played practice rounds, but he played very well for his first tournament ever there.

I'm okay with the changes they made to Top of the World, with the shorter basket position. I'm less happy with changing the order of play for the baskets. Whassup wit' dat? (Don't answer; the question is rhetorical.)

Wysocki has his Innova discs dialed in, fer sure. (And McBeth has his Discraft discs dialed in; he's only 2 back, I think?)

And excellent work by Jomez. Nice to see professionals doing their usual great job bring us some DeLa DG.

That round has to be some pretty cringe worthy video... birdied 4 of last 5 to shoot even... and paul did even worse.

Was it raining out there or something?

I don't know what time they played. It started raining here in the Sacramento area around 1-2 pm, which means it would have started raining in Santa Cruz around 10 or 11 am maybe

Just woke up and seeing the scores for round 2 just make me think " what happened" . . Paul 40% C1x ?!?

..And how did Paige P manage to find 4 OBs in R1? . . This course does not have that much OB, not many OBs in the field besides the four for PP ( And two for Madison )

So Cat, PP and Hokom played this course from the same Tee and pin placement at the same score as Ricky and one better than Paul in R2. . how often have THAT happened?

There is OB all over the course in the form of any tree that is more than 2 meters in height. :)

Did you hear Jeremy Koling's new term for a good throw that results in a terrible result? At this course, this would be referred to as being Dela'ed. He now calls it being "dumbfortunate".

When Nate talks about taking relief from poison oak in the back 12 of round 1 (hole 22), was there something at the player's meeting about that? I looked at the caddy book and didn't see it mentioned anywhere

The FPO scores is kind of strange. . one player shot +1 in perfect weather in R1 .. . R2 in rain 3players shot E
PP shot six better in the rain.

But in MPO the scores was MUCH worse in R2. . i mean Ricky shot 14 worse in R2

It's in the PDGA rule book...I believe under relief from hazardous bugs, plants, barbed wire etc.

QA-OBS-5: Can I get relief from irritating plants such as poison ivy, poison oak, or nettles?

No, unless the Director has declared casual relief for them. Those plants affect players differently, and very rarely pose a serious health risk. If your disc goes into some plants and you don't want to play from there, you can take optional relief, or abandon the throw, at the cost of a penalty throw.
